President Donald Trump
I assume it's still acceptable to have a Trump thread in a Politics forum?
So this is an obvious lie - basically aimed at
Why do you keep saying this even after Trump won the highest % of latino and black men votes of any republican in many decades? why do you want to claim the underlying point is racism when trump won with the most diverse coalition ever for a republican? even bringing a black onlyfan model with tatoos on her face to the republican convention? Why do you always, always lie in the
I don't think that racism is the sole explanation for Trumpism. On the other hand, I strongly suspect that a non-trivial percentage of black and Latino men who voted for Trump would agree that he is racist.
It’s absurd to think that Mexican immigrants can’t be propagandized to pull up the ladder behind them and also to dislike Guatemalans or Venezuelan “criminals”
And all permutations of that
This strategy might be nice for you guys to cope with Trump being in power ("his voters are the dumbest!") but is based on an objective lie and as such will not allow you guys to gain meaningful power against someone running on a platform similar to his in the future, because you simply don't want to understand why that platform has decent support among absolutely normal people
Some people just value truth and decency more highly then winning at any cost .
I’ll let you decided which side act like this .
When I was young , many won games or pass school test by cheating and being proud of it , I personally never thought it was ok and today i believe many of them that cheated has it more difficult then me today .
This chart is either meaningless or the creator of the chart doesn't know what a confidence interval is.

Anyone surprised?
The Justice Department is asking that a former police officer found guilty of violating the civil rights of Breonna Taylor in 2020 – when she was shot and killed by police in her Louisville home – be sentenced to one day in jail.
We are so screwed

Bove has been the target of numerous letters urging lawmakers to reject his nomination, including 900 former Justice Department attorneys who have accused him of dismantling key functions to keep the department independent from the White House.
The purge continues

“If a career prosecutor can be fired without reason, fear may seep into the decisions of those who remain. Do not let that happen,” she wrote. “Fear is the tool of a tyrant, wielded to suppress independent thought. Instead of fear, let this moment fuel the fire that already burns at the heart of this place. A fire of righteous indignation at abuses of power. Of commitment to seek justice for victims. Of dedication to truth above all else.”
Its incredibly easy to understand that relentless pathological lying from the right has been effective at not just targeting the cult but also normal people as all forms of media have become slanted towards that particular brand of propaganda.
Many people in the media misunderstand what Trump expects to accomplish with the bolded. For the most part, he isn't trying to pull one over on people. This observation is why several astute observers during Trump's first term parsed the difference between liars and bullshitters and correctly labelled Trump as the latter. (The liar cares what the truth actually is. The bullshitter does not.) Sure, there will be some gullible people who believe everything Trump says, but that isn't the point from Trump's perspective. Not really. The point is to normalize relentless bullshitting. The point is to convince people that every politician bullshits all the time, and therefore you shouldn't take truthfulness into account when evaluating politicians. You should vote for politicians in the same way that you vote for couples on Love Island. That is, you should vote based on who makes you laugh, who is willing to be outrageous, who is willing to attack the people you don't like, etc.
Like most modern authoritarians, Trump is perfectly happy to reign over a highly cynical populace that believes in nothing.

I agree. But how would you explain the term "confidence interval" in the context of that chart?
Trump quote from a few months ago, surprised I didn't hear about it at the time.
"They rigged the election, and I became president."
It’s absurd to think that Mexican immigrants can’t be propagandized to pull up the ladder behind them and also to dislike Guatemalans or Venezuelan “criminals”
And all permutations of that
and if that happens that's not racism, especially not white supremacy like weez insanely claimed, rather nativism which is utterly different (and even the black panthers shared)
I agree. But how would you explain the term "confidence interval" in the context of that chart?
it's the size of the interval such as the actual value of the trait in the population is in given the imperfect measurement of the poll. You poll something at X and depending on sample size and incidence of the subdemo groups in the overall demography you can define a CI, such that the "true value" of what you polled about would be within X+-CI/2 size 95% of the times

But it's just not true that the republican voting base has an IQ of 70 lol
I don't think that racism is the sole explanation for Trumpism. On the other hand, I strongly suspect that a non-trivial percentage of black and Latino men who voted for Trump would agree that he is racist.
Weez claimed a specific form of racism *for trump voters*, check what he wrote, which is obviously blatantly false in a disgusting way and the typical obscene claim made by people with TDS
This guy ****ing hates the multi-quote function, eh?

I thought it was obvious that I wasn't asking for the general definition of a confidence interval.

I obviously disagreed with weez, but your argument was unconvincing and silly, regardless of whether weez was right or wrong.
I agree. But how would you explain the term "confidence interval" in the context of that chart?
My guess is they are using 50% because there has been such wild variance in polls the last 6 months but 2xing the intervals (~90%) doesn't imply that he might actually have significant approval within the population
Not on a PC
