Collusion at Final Table of Millionaire Maker!
Yaginuma vs Carroll. Carroll enters final table with 10 to 1 chip lead, Yaginuma gets $1 million dollar bonus from Club
"We have concluded that in order to uphold the integrity of the game and to uphold our official WSOP Tournament Rules, no winner will be recognized and no bracelet will be awarded for this year's tournament."
That same generic "integrity of the game" ruling could've (should've) been applied to the Tamayo situation last year as well, which I thought was way worse than 2 heads up players doing what they did. Tamayo was cheating the whole final table with RTA!
My issue is the heavy-handed lifetime ban-hammer (ok with no bracelet, in fact I predicted it) for those 2 while they did fk all with Tamayo.

The advice was between hands for Tamayo. So not fully RTA. Banhammer usually comes with some delay. The HU players got their millions. Next offender of some kind will get DQ+ban directly more easily. I wouldn't recommend to use wit for some first time offence now...

Of course last year was worse and they should have been banned and not paid. However, that doesn't make this year's issue any more or less bad. It is still bad in it own right, lacked integrity, and illegal by WSOP guidelines.
The majority of people say they want others, including organizations, to learn from their mistakes. WSOP did that and people are still crying about it.
These people continue to say "its just two people heads up and its their money-they should be able to do what they want. Chops happen all the time so this should be no different ."
You sign up to play something with rules, you're bound to those rules. The WSOPs logic may be stupid, but they set the standard for how their tournaments will be played and you agree to that by entering. I am all about breaking dumb rules, its got me fired from numerous jobs, but I've learned I cant keep bitching about it when im reminded why.
Your argument isn't great, and wsop obv doesnt think so either. They're a billion dollar business and they are not ****ing around, clearly.
It literally looks identical to Rampage dumbing to Marino on hustler live 🤣🤣 anyone seen wolf gang play poker all looks very similar style, chip dumbing for some type of different incentive
lol nah, don’t need to. Ban hammer is automatic there’s and regarding rule change it’s a privilege to play a tournament and if do so must obey the rules put in place to preserve integrity of competition. It probably won’t be necessary but I’ll bump this if they put in explicit rule next year.
Bump because they put in that rule I talked about last year, no third party contracts
“Look em up” lmao
I think they also banned those two guys from the WSOP for life.
The thing about Tamayo is he put the WSOP in a really bad spot. Ill say that they absolutely should have pulled him aside as soon as he saw him conferring with that douchebag and looking at a computer screen. It was quite obvious he was up to no good. But because he was heads up for the main event, they let it go instead of causing a scene and tipping everyone off to the fact he was potentially cheating.
Since he ultimately won, it was too late for them to say ****. Can you imagine if they DQed him AFTER the fact as opposed to interrupting during the act? They were stuck.
They might have been aloof to what he was up to, but I doubt it (surprised nobody pointed it out in the act). Their hands were tied and they had to award him the bracelet and the money.

I have been watching all the main events from 2003 onwards and watched this one the other night. It was funny knowing the controversy surrounding the event and then seeing all the advertising for the very tool the jackass was using.
With all this AI stuff in general all I can say is us humans are stupid.
