2028 ELECTION THREAD
He could sue you for that right now. We live in a litigious country
The case would likely be thrown out
Think of it as defamation. Its historically very hard to prove malicious intent
He could sue just like I could sue you for this post. You can call people w/e you want.
People always think they got a case against someone or something because they saee someone win millions of dollars because their coffee was too hot, so why not me!
That lady deserved every penny from that hot coffee.

If the poor lady got permanent burn marks on her body, I agree with you.
Regardless of the injuries to the lady I think McDonald's issue was they knew internally that the coffee was too hot for the consumer but decided to keep it at the high temperature anyway because it would last longer and would save them money and it was an acceptable risk to burn a few people now and again.
yes that's what got em, they literally calculated the cost of a lawsuit vs the savings of having their coffee that temp and decided it was cheaper to have dangerous coffee

The woman also was a very sympathetic plaintiff. She was 79 years old and spent eight day in the hospital getting multiple skin grafts. That's the sort of plaintiff you want in a jury trial.

I suspect Harris would be ranked much lower if she wasn't the only person in the poll that many of the respondents had heard of other than AOC and Newsom.
File This Under: NAME RECOGNITON
edit: Buttigieg was newsworthy a couple years ago though.
Lol its 2025. Whats to line for the 49ers to win in 2028? Who gives a ****.
Yes, Trump was a normal candidate.
If we are going to pipe dream about far away 2028, then I'll take a flyer and say Obama 2.0 will be Maryland's governor Wes Moore...although it could be as VP for a east and west ticket with California's governor Newsom.

Obviously, a lot will happen before 2028. But everyone above Shapiro in that poll seems like a gift to Republicans in a general election, IMO.
Bumping the thread to keep on front page.
A little bit of new data was released of the 2024 election.
Turnout in the 2024 presidential election was slightly lower than in previous years, which former Vice President Kamala Harris' campaign previously blamed for her loss to President Donald Trump. However, a New York Times analysis has suggested that even with higher turnout, Harris likely wouldn't have won. Trump reportedly mobilized 85% of his 2020 voters compared to just 79% of Biden's supporters for Harris. I personally believe that DEMs not having the regular primary season with a battle royale left voters very unsatisfied and not motivated to vote in large numbers for a candidate they did not get to choose.
Also, I remember the Harris group going hard at trying to flip Trump voters. Analysts found limited voter crossover: around 5% of Biden’s 2020 voters shifted to Trump, while only 3% of Trump’s previous supporters moved to Harris. This suggests that Harris’ attempts to court Republicans had little impact.
I saw a few articles about that and was pretty surprised at the numbers cited. People seemed so completely sure that if you forced every voter to show up that dems would win every election, but the data just didn't support it.
Pro tip to the Democrats: Drop the overt pandering to the alphabet mafia from your official platform and completely stop talking about racism and/or how evil men are, then enjoy the easy wins.
Don't use any euphemisms for the things above in your stump speeches, because people aren't as dumb as you think.
If you ever want to find out if Marxism can work in America, you have to stop distracting the general population with your self-righteous identity-politics bullshit. Stick to the numbers and let people fight their own social battles. If you want to campaign on free ponies, great. But everyone should be equally entitled to those ponies regardless of their immutable outward characteristics. Don't play favorites with a tiny percentage of the population and then give us all the shocked Pikachu face when you find out everyone else doesn't enjoy being called bigots and Nazis because they haven't hugged a furry today. Going around telling certain minorities that their circumstances in life aren't their fault, it's because of systemic bigotry, is neither helpful to that person nor a particularly good way to get people outside that minority on your side.
It might take some time for the sour taste to fade, but if you start with this today, you should be good to go by 2028. When Trump runs for a third term, a lot of people will be looking for any excuse to pick someone else, but not if that someone has spent the election cycle telling them how deplorable they are.
It's a free country; you can still think people are bigots and Nazis, but just don't put it on your posters and campaign literature.
The Republicans are currently implementing real identity politics. Firing people, revoking security clearances, trying to legally mandate away the gay, etc. "Identity politics" isn't supporting something you don't like, its implementing laws that discriminate against the vulnerable.
The hypocrisy is so exhausting.
Sorry you don't like "the alphabet mafia". I think that makes you a sensitive snowflake more than anything
And btw, that post reads like regretful cope more than anything.
I'm like 90% sure you voted for Trump and are currently regretting it which has fueled your recent cope posting on a multitude of topics
(yes I'm aware that you claim you didn't vote for trump)

Just drop the social issues that you care about and people will support you! Amazing prescription.
Yes It is - especially if you want to target the ever growing Hispanic vote that you're losing as a result of it.
I mean, do you guys not even know what the top issues are anymore? How bad is it? You guys were the bread and butter on the economy and healthcare about circa 2008-2013 and then abandoned it to virtue signal your tribalistic ideologs and have been more or less destroying yourselves ever since.
So we should drop the “alphabet mafia” because that is somehow mutually exclusive with economic issues? Nah, we’re good.
Let’s call out woke bullshit and stop canceling people, I’m on board with that. Let’s make sure we always make it clear that cops are heroes and deserve our respect. Let’s support our troops and love the flag.
I’m not going to sell out gay rights because latinos are more religious though, you can piss off with that.
Its always funny when the old conservative white guys who don't like the gays give advice that amounts to dont support the gays
I wonder how yall came to the conclusion that the "alphabet mafia" was the single largest issue in the country

I wouldn't expect you to comb through the last 9 years of my posts, but I have cast more votes in presidential elections for Bernie Sanders than I have Trump. I donated more money to Hillary Clinton campaigns than Trump ones.
That said, I'll continue to be okay with letting both sides to make fools of themselves, because I'd rather have a mostly harmless narcissist in office than be talked down at for not wanting to turn everything into a contest about who can be most woke, or refusing to participate in a Pity Party.
It must be nice to sit on that lofty perch above the battle that some people have to wage just to survive and preach down your nose about how you shouldn't be required to even hear about it.

See, this is the big problem. The only time I think about gay people is when some show or movie is doing an over-the-top steretotypical super-fabulous version of the gay best friend and I think about how annoying that type of person is.
I dislike exactly two things: smokers and buses. Both are frequently obnoxious enough in my life to need to go be annoying somewhere else.
You equate me not actively cheering people for being gay as not liking them. This is a pretty core tenet of the left lately. If you're not an active ally, you're _______phobic. It's wrong, it's stupid, and makes people defensive and unwilling to even engage with you. It's not the biggest issue, but it's definitely the one taking up the most lopsided amount of oxygen in the room given the number of people it affects.
I feel far more strongly about the bigotry of low expectations put forth by too many people in the democrat party. That's doing far more harm to society than dudes making women uncomfortable in public bathrooms. Maybe we just stop doing both, though. Focus on positive things that actually matter to everyone instead of wasting so much time trying to feel morally superior while the world burns.

It would be nicer to have things go back to being about America and Americans as a whole.
