To state the obvious, Luciom isn't posting about this stuff because he read about it in the Denver Post. Some outrage vendor fed it to him on social media as big news and he immediately rushed to 2+2 to post about it.

"Outrage vendor" is an excellent expression.

by weeeez m

Why do you keep writing ''redicolous ''
Is this a meme or inside joke

Also lol ''normal people (us)''.
You are so normal that 99% of people disagree with you all the time.

No they dont disagree with me all the time about everything i say lol. I am just very confrontational especially here so many (most?) of you pick up anything they disagree with me and focus on that. But that still doesn't mean that even here they do disagree with me with all or most of what i say. They just focus on disagreements when interacting with me because they like conflict.

That includes you ofc.

Sorry about the spelling of ridicolous. In online chat the abbreviation is redic, so i "learnt" it's redicolous, but yes you are right and it's ridicolous.

by coordi m

My assumption is the deadnaming bit will be softened but its really not crazy to expect some level of anti discrimination protection for public accomodations

Like if you requested to be called Lucio and everyone called you Lucci instead and referred to you as a bitch you would probably wonder what the **** is going on

What is outrageous and crazy is to make it a trans issue. If you had a law considering discrimination to use the old name of someone who legally changed his name, or to warp it in any way against the wishes of the person , we could discuss that.

Slippery slope about 1a but i mean, it's not like randomly insulting people is always allowed in all settings to it's about how much warping names or using old names after legal changes can be insulting. Fine.

But making it about *trans people only* is morally and legally horrific. It's deeply disturbing to focus on trans people at all with legislation, as if they deserved any special consideration by the law at all in any setting (*THEY DEFINITELY DO NOT*). That's the insistent approach we consider abhorrent. To think trans people deserve any special rule about them at all.

We completly refuse to have "trans-ness" be a protected class in any way.

And again remember this is you telling we are obsessed with trans people. No we are not, just stop any attempt to legislate anything about trans people being special or deserving any kind of protection or change in behaviour from anyone else in any setting and we are fine. You keep trying to insert trans-ness as a political topic, we keep reacting until you stop completly. Obsession is 100% your side.

Deadnaming isn’t restricted to trans identifying people

Glad we worked that out!

Who ****ing cares?

Wait, so this was never just about trans people exclusively, and the only people complaining about it being a trans only issue are the ones who were trying to make it a trans only issue? Is that actually what just happened, because talk about proving a point perfectly. I'm not looking that crap up to see, but it's hilarious if true.

The bill is being developed in collaboration with national level LGBTQ activist groups and is certainly being developed with trans people in mind. Colorado is a safe haven state in general.

But the actual protections of chosen name and the definition of deadnaming have nothing to do with trans identity specifically. Its just meant to address that the chosen form of discrimination against trans individuals is to deny their identity.

Its still ironic to say that one state working to carve out a safe haven from oppressive legislation is obsession. Its like saying moving the women and children into the castle walls during an invasion is violent obsession. Its blatant hateful nonsense meant to keep a vulnerable class vulnerable

by Luciom m

And you don't have to take my word for it, this guy literally just said "we are obsessed with oppressing trans-ness"

So, that's a yes.

lolololololol absolutely hysterical.

There's nothing like right-wingers pushing old ladies down to be first to the microphone to announce their bigotry and prove their own lies wrong.

by Luciom m

some "outrage vendor" linked the Denver post.and I answered an absurd, redicolous claim by cordie that the left is uninterested about trans people and it's the right taking up the topic all the times.whole the left is trying to legislate extreme state violence toward all people to "protect" trans people, which aside from being utterly h constitutional in the USA, is also morall

I sure hope not!

The Leftist Mob of Pea Brains are a gift that keep on giving to the Right.

I'm new to this "deadnaming" controversy.

So, if I publish an article about Metta World Peace, can I get in trouble legally if I always refer to him as Ron Artest?

He could sue you for that right now. We live in a litigious country

The case would likely be thrown out

Think of it as defamation. Its historically very hard to prove malicious intent

Have you tried looking new words and concepts up on google instead of asking an obscure poker forum to explain them to you?

by coordi m

He could sue you for that right now.

Only if he can show a detriment.

wtf is poker?!?

Okay, thanks!

No, I have not tried that.

I like stuff explained to me in simple words so I can understand it.

edit: *have a better chance of understanding it.

I believe Google will give you a word-based reply.

.

oh wait there is a u.

Well that's because in italiano it is ridicolo.

I thought the u was only in the harry potter spell lol

by coordi m

And you don't have to take my word for it, this guy literally just said "we are obsessed with oppressing trans-ness"

we are obsessed with stopping leftist monsters legislating absurdities yes, including making trans a protected class in any way or form.

And that only happens because you monsters started attempting that recently, we are just obsessed with, you no, not changing the cultural status quo through legislation like... ever? that's kinda the feature.

Legislation should NOT be used to attempt to change culture , it should be illegal to do so in general, morals in general should NOT be part of what legislation can be about.

by coordi m

The bill is being developed in collaboration with national level LGBTQ activist groups and is certainly being developed with trans people in mind. Colorado is a safe haven state in general.

they do because the salient part was that of minors in parental custody battles and minors can't change their names legally ffs without both parents agreeing.

So it was "deadnaming" predicated on self-change of name, not on legal change. Which only trans people do!

But sometimes Google uses big words.
