The winning cat is out of the bag!

Please charge Wynn for your time at the tables!

After a titling blackjack session where we got up 700, we dusted it back and picked up even. I hate when I do that but it’s the nature of the beast sometimes. Glad I at least didn’t book another loss.

Felt it was best to go for a catwalk down the strip and we did about four miles and we stopped at Paris and registered for tomorrows WSOP $1500 Super Turbo Bounty. Hopefully that will be a fun sweat.

From there we hit the sports book and through down a small $300 dollar wager on the oilers money line so we have a little sweat while we watch the game later.

After a delicious room service breakfast we are off to the spa to hit the facilities and relax. Then , we’ll prolly try to get a seat somewhere although I’ll be trying to do that at the worst possible time of day to sign up but we’ll see what happens!

Well friends,

That was a humbling session. We got felted in 1/3 PLO for 1K and we played bad and ran worse. We have to dust ourselves off but that was a disappointing session.

Time to go hit the catnip, get some food and reset my friends. Stanley Cup in a few hours anyway.

So after a very long and much needed sleep, we are coming out of the catnip coma and ready to refocus. We lost our sports bet as the oilers got crushed in Game 3 and then we dropped a couple hundred on the old casino war trying to spin it up. Add that to the afternoon PLO session debacle and day 2 is an a solid loss.

Day 2:
Poker Cash: -1K
Poker Tourney:
Table Games/Other: -500

Upon further reflection I realize this is always a theme of my trips. The first couple days I sometimes get off to slow starts and there are several reasons:

1) I’m rusty. I don’t play nearly as much as I used to and coming into Vegas in June totally cold takes a little warming up I think, even for all of us seasoned vets.

2) I’m overly active in sessions and spots where I could pass or let the action come to me. I think it’s part of the excitement of getting here and the fantasies of big stacks and big paydays. Trying too hard.

3) I am stubborn about game selection early in the week. For instance, there are much better spots than the Wynn on Monday afternoon, and even within the Wynn room, just moving tables or games, is something that’s always made me successful that I need to get back to.

Well, today’s a new day, and we are going to head down for some late night:early morning cash, and we have the WSOP $1500 Super Turbo Bounty today at 10am.

Let’s turn this thing around today with a solid cash session and a deep run in event #34!

GL in the turbo. I played the $1k version of that a few years back. It's a fun one, and probably much more so if you can run hot and knock some people out.

Swongs will happen, just don’t let it affect your decision making or your process going forward!

Thanks guys. My overnight/morning PLO cash session went well. And by well, I mean we lost 1K however, we played much better we were flopping well and hurt unfortunately couldn’t boat up with our sets and hold against draws in big pots and in PLO, 1K is nothing when that’s how things are happening. Still, I feel much more confident about how I played and looking to carry this into the tournament today. Going to head to breakfast and mentally reset before heading over to Paris to get ready for the super turbo bounty which starts at 10am.

Let’s get it!

PLO is so swingy -- you can easily make a comeback. I was happy a few trips ago to come back from being down $7, 000 to only $3, 000 on my last night -- after starting down another $1, 000! LOL.

GL in the turbo.

Glgl!!

Walking in here never gets old. While in the back of your mind, you know it’s the longest of long shots, but then again, someone has to win, and why not us.

We sit down and find a pretty good table draw with only 1-2 really competent players. We make it through the first six levels increasing our stack from 25K to 42K by mostly playing solid and a TAG/Abc style. Table continues to be a good draw.

Go, go, go! Run good 😀

Update: second break, same stack. Just card dead with no good spots.

Stack looks basically the same by we only have about 18 bigs. Need to mane some hands!

Wooooof. Brutal exit. We spun it up to 60K after break only to run top two on the turn into a flopped set and I couldn’t get away from it - no love on the river and we are OUT (Jeff Boski style) of the WSOP 1500,

but we fly over to resorts world and max late reg the $200 daily cause we are a grinder at heart!

We got 47K at 1k-2K from 25K starting. 45 left out of 117…. No idea what’s up top? Maybe 4K which candidly, would be a nice little score given how poorly the trip has gone so far.

lol true dat!

63K going to 1/2K! 5K up top. 33/111 remain and 12 get paid. We could use a win lol.

I was in that tournament! If you witnessed a gut punch TT vs. KQ hand, that was me heading out the door.

Now that I'm out, you have my permission to win it.

Ah! Sorry to hear that. No, there was no one at your skill level at any of my tables lol ….and yet still, we bust in 19th or 20th (somewhere around there) about 8 off the money and we come up empty. Just no hands and no spots. I’m very happy with my grind actually and got my last 14 bigs in good with 99 vs AQ and lost so oh well.

Woof on Day 3 totals my friends:

Poker Cash: -1k
Poker Tourney: -1700
Table games : -1K

Yikes, yikes and more yikes. Gotta go back and total it all up but we are down something like 5K.

Roughest start to any trip I’ve had in years. We have yet to book a winning session at cash, and we haven’t cashed tourney, and won literal zero at the table games etc.

With 4 full days ahead of us, it’s time to make a pivot. We need to go spend time at some Bellagio 2/5 , resorts world 1/3 and 2/5 and hope to grind our way out of this hole for a couple days before we start firing Wynn turbos.

For now, time for a break as I’ve been playing for about 18 hours straight !

Okay Day 4 Boyz and girls here we go! We had a nice dinner las night at Allegro, did a little shopping for the wife at Amiri so she forgets I was gone for 8 days, and now we are starting the cash game grind!

Meatball pizza at Allegro for the win! 8.5/10

Pink sparkly handbag for wife: 10/10 for her , 0/10 for me.

1/3 NL at the Wynn let’s go!

It CAN turn around!!

Handbag looks like the perfect way to carry your excess chips

Did she actually ask for that? LOL. (I'm a woman, and my "purse" is my phone case that holds four cards. However, I'd also rather go to Vegas and play poker than carry a sparkly pink purse!)

Run good!!!

My wife is “girly girl” and loves handbags (eye roll). I guess not unlike a lot of ladies so as the Russian guy next to me who lost 3K in casino war in 3 hands said “what can you do?”

My nicest handbag cost about $200 new, but I got it (brand new) at Good Will for $45. Still haven't used it 😉

$3, 000 in three hands would make me a little ill. I'll stick with poker -- at least I get a few hours in before I lose $3, 000!
