He often does take pictures etc. but most of the time he is on break, just busted out of a tournament or about to enter a tournament, while at the same time filming a vlog and trying to keep a train of thought. It's clear to the people he is in the middle of filming.
Would you want to get interrupted by photo seekers during those scenarios?
Plus, it's not like it only happens every now and then, it's every day all day, it would get pretty old after years.
Dnegs irks me in a lot of different ways. But his open attitude of disgust towards fans and autograph and picture-seekers really ignites the burn these days. His video from a couple of days ago where he plainly tells the guy he's being disruptive, to his face, and basically tries to "shew" him away like a child beggar, and then does the roll-the-eyes and quick breathe routine.
I've seen him be incredibly nice to people many times and frankly I don't know how he did it including people bothering him during hands of a cash game.
You can't expect him to be perfectly nice 100 percent of the time when people see he's doing something and still interrupt him. He gets this dozens of times a day minimun and handles it all pretty well.
I think there's a lot to criticize him for - he's an odd mix of realizing how good he has it in life but really is totally oblivious to how good he ran in poker at the right time which gets annoying. But how he interacts with fans overall isn't it.
The vlog has become pretty unbearable with the level of filming at the table. Just incredible levels of cringe when 95% of the players are not interested in being filmed and just awkwardly sit there while Daniel runs his stream of consciousness. Yes, they have agreed to be filmed and Dnegs has a media pass but man is that part of the Vlog brutal to watch.
He does mostly do a good job of taking time for photos with fans but there are times where he kind of forgets that he's relying on this fandom that he self promotes via the vlog in order to stay relevant. Over the years he's consistently been unbelievably savvy on the business and marketing side of things and the swarming of fans during breaks is a product of that which you kind of have to live with, within reason.
Yea I dont think being mean to fans is something you can criticize DNegs about. Hes a pretty nice guy to the fans, especially considering how often he gets interrupted... just imagine how often he gets hounded by people outside the situations we see on camera as well.

I agree but have thought a few times why doesn't he just wait to start recording until he gets to his room or some other place where people won't bother him? Seems like he's to some degree inviting the problem of interruptions and having to be dismissive of fans by recording as he talks and walks through the hallways filled with poker players.
DN pretty much has carte blanche in the tournament area when he is playing an event going to players he knows at other tables while play is in progress asking them questions while recording his VLOG.
He is trying to create content so when he leaves the tournament area on break or heading to his car he doesn't want to be interrupted speaking his thoughts into his camera.
The WSOP is no longer spectator friendly. Most players aren't old enough to remember it at the Horseshoe on Fremont Street with all the railbirds surrounding the live games and tournament area. Jack Binion wanted those people there. The more people he could attract to come in the Horseshoe the more money the casino would make. It was a lot smaller then.

Daniel is pretty clearly staking Matusow this summer, right? After openly referring to him as an idiot for years, he just randomly talks about how he's targeting him as a cheap add in the 25k vlog and then drafts him for $3 and has featured him a couple of random times.
He pretty much made it clear in his first vlog of the summer that anyone in his fantasy team gets staked.

Yes they’re determined ahead of time but pokergo has live streamed ad hoc plenty of times when a big named pro makes a final table . I’m kinda surprised they aren’t live streaming this one with all the big name pros. The heads up tournament had 5k viewers at any given time , surely this would blow those numbers out of the water . But limit O8 is kind of slow and boring at times .

Unfortunately, deuceblocker is correct but I still would like to see a crew and gear standing by for just such an occasion. It doesn't have to have any high production value, just something streamed to their YouTube channel as bonus content.
But bear in mind, we're still at 11 players, so perhaps this is something that will happen should Negreanu/Blom end up in that final table. So perhaps it's a bit premature for me to criticize.
My mistake. Still 11 left. Coleman and Lamb also in it. Would get spectacular views with Negreanu and Blom leaders. All the $10K not NLHE or PLO high final tables tend to be stacked with big names. Fairly small fields and a lot of the pre-boom and boom players are better at mixed games.
Nobody mention the edit job in I think it was vlog #2 when he was playing chess and made a lol really dumb mistake leaving his bishop and knight exposed to the same pawn. I love how he said dont worry I'll show me come back then the footage was immediately edited to something different and of course we dont see the outcome of the chess match. It was a few years ago, but I made a comedic video taking footage from Dnegs WSOP vlogs titled "Daniel Negreanu in the Pokerverse of Madness" and tagged him, Amanda, Kessler, etc. on Twitter.
My video poked a lot of fun at him, making it look like Amanda was hooking up with Ivey on the side, that Dnegs was harrasing that girl (that accused him, but she was actually the one who came up to him) and that he killed Allen Kessler and making him look really paranoid.
Then as I'm watching his vlogs after that, there's an episode where he goes up to Kessler and Allen is asking him if he saw the video from "that guy on youtube" and they talk about it for a sec and then he winds up sharing a clip from the video in his vlog.
The clip he shared was just the "news" report I put in there where the reporter is dicussing the mutilated body of Kessler being found, saying he had been murdered with a chainsaw.
He shared nothing that would poke fun of himself or show him as the assumed killer. And naturally he gave me no credit either, although it was still pretty cool to get part of my content in there. But I think he's likely overly sensitive to any criticisms thrown his way, kinda fragile.

If Blom and Negreanu are both left with good sized stacks im almost certain they will televise the final table.
Blom and DN are 1/2 in the chip counts right now with 7 left.
Oh, wow. Blom won a big hand from Negreanu and Brooks, eliminating Brooks. Blom now has a big lead with 6 left. Stakes are big relative to stacks, so one hand can cause big changes.

How many entrants?
No doubt he has to be playing quite well in this one to get to the final 5 with this field. However, in his vlog its really annoying that no matter how hes doing, all hes talking about is how hes never winning a pot or how certain players beat him in big pots. When you go from 800k to 3.2m between 2 breaks, how can the most memorable thing from that level be "Isildur scooped me when I had a nut flush draw and nut low draw - its insane how good this guy is running against me!"
He has been vlogging his entire run and now hes in the final 5 and we have had maybe 1 hand history where he explains a good play he made, other than that its only complaining about running bad. I wish I could run as bad as DNegs.
