Tom Dwan - the missing man

- The first part of the interview where he talks about the incidents are either edited out or not recoreded by this interviewer who happen to be friend with Dwan.
Probably a mistake

- Dwan says he met the pokernews guy after he waited 45 minute for him. Says this guy's version of what happened was a version that the (bad) doctors would want to hear.
Is he working for the people that are after Tom? Was he briefed by the doctors on what to say?

- According to Tom, the doctors where bad to him and even told him a law about cutting his contact that was false.
The same people that let him have access to his twitter account for over 24 hours

- He says he's been told/lead to believe he had a psychotc episode, pretending to not know the exact term. But then says that, altough it's possible he is predisposed to have those, he has tought about it before and it wouldn't make sense.
Doesn't say what made him check whether he was predisposed or not?

- He doesn't go into details why it doesn't make sense to him, but he takes his time to tell how doctors told him that he had not been drugged. Meanwhile his girlfriend "wrote in quotes" that a doctor told her he had been drugged.
Only possible explanation left if he wasn't predisposed and mentally ok

- He also mentionned that the flight attendant was counting his drinks. Then quickly switched the subject and refused to talk about the incidents anymore
Could the flight attendant be aware of the fact that his drinks were drugged?

I haven't seen this talked about in the thread. Tom Dwan was around Phua a lot during the time that he had charges against him in the US. There is a non 0 chance that the US government tried to deal with Tom in some way to get "insights" on Paul.

The worst thing that can happen to someone who's prone to psychosis, is when real things are also going on along with all the false things that are going on in the head.

Let's be real here, a guy like Tom or any high stakes poker pro that travels around the world and get to meet a lot of interesting people would make close to a perfect spy. It's almost impossible that it is not currently happening.

Paul Phua was a person of interest for the US. I feel my theory is plausible enough to not be brushed off with simply "this is not how the world works" lol

this is why if you meet someone in the state department, it's overwhelmingly likely that they went to a small lutheran college, the kind that doesn't allow alcohol on campus or sexual relationships between its students

you know that's the real thing they screen for right, does this person drink or use alcohol, do they have a lot of sexual partners or other vices - it's that which they prioritize over anything else - last thing they want is a junkie or someone who falls victim to a honeypot scheme

they are not going to just approach someone who they "think may have info as an interloper" that they don't think they can trust with their lives and include him in briefings - because the real threat isn't missing out on dwan perhaps overhearing some super top secret plans at the poker table, the real threat is dwan then going to his friends and telling them everything he knows from his recent briefing with a bunch of randos

now would they consider taking that risk with say xi jinpings private doctor or housekeeper - sure, that's probably worth a gamble, someone who plays poker for a living and is sometimes playing with people known for running bookmaking operations - no, not so much

What to make of these new reports that passengers are saying that relatively early in the flight Tom began screaming about how they were trying to drug him and kill him and he had to get out of there and later proceeded to attempt to break-out of the airplane. He was considered to be such a danger to himself and others that they kept his wrists & ankles zip tied the rest of the way and he was not even allowed to use the restroom.

Probabilistically, it should be WAAAAAAYYYY easier for you to believe (know) that Tom had a psychotic break than it is to believe he’s an undercover agent working for the US government.

Let’s assume you’re right (you’re not), and that the government hired Tom Dwan to spy on Paul Phua and infiltrate the Triads…how do you explain his recent tweets where he’s announcing to the the world that he has influence over Putin, and direct connections to the POTUS and VP? Is that how you’d expect an UNDERCOVER agent to operate?

I don’t think your theory that the US gov might try to leverage these poker games to gain intel on Phua, et al is necessarily crazy, but the idea that they’d pick Tom Dwan to be that guy, is bananas.

This dude has been doing nothing but binge poker non stop last 20 years and rarely sleeping. His brain was going to fry eventually.

You don't necessarily have to be a spy to have interactions with government agencies. If you're around people of interest it's easy for them to contact you and ask you for some information. That alone could make people paranoid. Not that this happened here, just saying.

If Tom is an operative of CIA, CSIS, MI6, J2, DGSE, AIVD, BND, etc. then it is possible that he was recruited as a subject for clinical trials of experimental drugs, such as truth serums, or immobilizers, or advanced hypnotics, or advanced CNS stimulants, etc. If so, the proper medical backgrounding might not have been completed, and the cumulative effect may have been to induce unpredictable acute psychotic episodes characterized by paranoid fantasies of persecution ( which actually may have some partial truth ).

They use the homeless/ and people who don't have any credibility for testing (MKultra now declassified CIA drug testing on homeless for reference). Not someone who's presumably a well valued agent, or why would they bother recruiting him in the first place. The only logical reason he'd be an agent would be Chinese connections and why would they want someone with Chinese connections spazzing out on experimental drugs.

Ofc the 99%+ likely answer is mental illness, or psychological breakdown even if only temporary (possibly caused or influenced by self administered substances).

He certainly didn't look healthy to me on his recent appearances on poker shows, whether that was due to drugs or just sleep deprivation. Hopefully he gets the help he needs.
