Caesars Poker Room to close for remodeling? mid July
Played today and the word going around is the rooms closing for remodeling. Not sure on the date of closing (heard maybe
Yeah +1. I have thousands of hours on the live poker felt during the past 10-12 years, and several of the best/most profitable games ive played ever have taken place at the old PH room out on the casino floor.Cry me a river that regs that cant take the music or loud noise dont want to play there, thats as you say a big big reason why the games were so insanely good for a long l
I am the furthest you can ever become from a headphone wearing nit as you described it above, but appreciate it anyway

Dude, please dont take everything possible at a personal level on this forum. I have never played with you,so i have no baseline to judge if you are good for the game or not.
If you know within yourself you are nothing like the silent headphone/tablet grinders you have nothing to be upset about: the post wasnt about YOU, the main point was to highlight why the old PH room was so good in terms of game quality.
One of the reasons is that the silent grinders that is horrible for the game want to stay at upscale rooms like the Wynn or Aria.

All good! The only reason I didn’t like it there and like Aria or Bellagio more is simply because as a nonsmoker even an hour of play kills me completely
I will try out the new room in a couple of weeks

The new room at Planet Hollywood. There's more room up there than I thought.
Lots of room between tables. I hope it's a success.
^^^
When the bean counters figure out the profitability per square foot, the results look terrible, and the room gets closed.
Doubt it. They aren't putting slots up there instead.
BTW, H-shoe had 2 tables of 8/16 mixed going yesterday, maybe as a nod to Chainsaw's PHo series coming up.
I adore the plastic trees...
Went over to check out the room tonight and play for a little bit. It is going to be a while till they get their feet under them. Lots of dealer error that seem like should not be happening. Hopefully it will not take too long for the staff to get there themselves up to speed. Hoping the best
I'll be in Vegas in July and have been excited to check out PH when I'm in town, but this hand from their $100 tournament that was posted on Reddit would stop me from playing there if I was in town sooner:
7 players remain, dealer deals cards to everyone but only gives 1 card to BB, who has also paid ante. UTG puts in a raise as soon as he sees his cards, BB asks for a 2nd card and dealer says she can’t now the hand is live. Floor comes over and agrees with her. Guy in BB only has about 5/6 BBs left so is understandably unhappy at having to post 2 of them and only get one card. I’m not sure if this was the right ruling or not, but the hand gets worse…
HJ goes all in and UTG calls. They table QQ vs KQs and the dealer points at the QQ hand, pushes the chips towards them and starts to shuffle the mucked cards back into the deck. Everyone absolutely loses their **** and floor comes over and decides to continue with the hand and deal the hand from the top of the current deck. I think this is probably wrong. The dealer deals a flop full of bricks and once again announces the QQ hand as a winner. Everyone loses their **** again and has to explain that we need a turn and river. QQ holds and KQs guy says thank **** I’m outta here, I’m going back to the Bellagio.
I find it hilarious that you think we needed a sassy essay with question marks to describe the situation.
It’s a room with a ton of promos and high hands. It’s clear what type of games they would be.
But you changed your tune, you said they were there waiting for a whale (they aren’t) and basically repeated my post back to me.
We both find it hilarious.
I am sorry you don't understand why.
You might want to rethink who changed their tune. There aren't playing for the 50 hours as you claim. They are already there.
It is my understanding that, as of yesterday, over 1000 players have achieved the qualifying hours.
What % of them will play is a different question entirely, but pretty much every local that I know who plays poker is giving it a shot.
There will also be a significant no. of semi-local, semi-reg players that live within a 4-5 hour drive or 90 min flight that are 100% attending.
I was in Vegas last weekend and talked to Aaron the overnight floor. He looked it up and it was less than 500 people who have qualified so far.
We both find it hilarious.

I told you and then you repeated most of it back to me. They aren’t sitting there waiting for a whale as you put it, in fact most of them would probably prefer not to play with someone always pumping the pot.
Now run along, school’s over
To each their own, I HATE sterile rooms, I loved PH the most when it was in the prior location, after they closed, Caesar's was my favorite. Gimmie a fun, lively atmosphere everytime over the morgue, wake-like rooms where no one talks and it's super clean Caesar's was the closest you could get to a man-cave style home game with the cups and cans all over, tables a bit too close together, and best of all the sportsbook and club right nearby. The parade of hotties every Thurs-Sun nights . . .
I'm not gonna insult you for your preference, just saying, there's a pot for every lid
Caesars poker room opens Friday according to Bravo. 1-3 game is now $500 cap. 2-5 is massive with $500-$2000 buy in range. I love the $500 min buy but $2000 is deep.
Double tiers at 1-3 so will be interesting how much that affects the 2-3 at Horseshoe.

Nice!
The promo chasing nits hate playing deep stacked so the games should be good.

so Caesar's went from the lowest 2-5 cap to the highest?
odd. They never had more than 2 2-5 tables going during the heart of the WSOP so maybe they're aiming for more of them.

Every time I was in there playing 1/3, the 2/5 players were trying to rope me into playing in their games.
Wasn't born yesterday, bub!

Thanks for demonstrating my point about you obviously not understanding.
As for school. Try it sometime.

I get it, for me personally it’s just the smoke issue (and maybe it being out in the middle of the main floor). Best is probably a combination of both, like Aria.
Any such "fun" in the middle of casino floor rooms left? Bellagio(old and crowded), Aria(it never feels fun for me), Wynn/Ecore(is OK but it is in a quiet part of Encore).
Played at PH today and while the poker room is nice , i would have preferred it super loud ,where you can straddle from any position for any amount with guys showing up from a night at the club dumping a couple buy ins .
Room really is nice though, it's not lit up enough for mixed games but otherwise having the restroom right there is good .
Prefer the old location though

visited the room Wednesday night.
the overall room is very strange. it is very big and spread out, like way too spread out. feels like playing poker in a carpeted gymnasium or something. it's also in a strange location tucked away in a top corner or something, as if they found some spare space and threw some tables in. you can stand up and look over the main casino floor and there is some music but it felt pretty quiet. you are away from any smoke, which is good.
the cards and felt are a bad match. the card color matches the felt so it is easy to miss who has cards. also the felt and cards texture are a terrible match in that they don't slide well and it's hard to pull them up to look. the cards are also pretty ugly.
my first two dealers were terrible. like it was their first day ever dealing poker. isn't 10pm kind of a peak time? they were incredibly slow. they don't know how to count chips, they can't keep up with the action. how are they working in a Vegas Strip poker room? and why am I here instead of at Bellagio? their struggles also seemed to cause players to play very slowly.
my players card wouldn't scan at the table. it is one I rarely use and not damaged. in fact I don't think it was a card error, more likely operator error for not knowing the buttons process. after a few minutes I walked to the floor manager and he said he would enter it from up there, although it never updated on the table display.
I will say though, the chairs are very comfortable.
it was a negative first impression for me and with so many better options for poker Center Strip, I'm not interested in playing there again.
