Caesars Poker Room to close for remodeling? mid July
Played today and the word going around is the rooms closing for remodeling. Not sure on the date of closing (heard maybe
I don't understand why anyone plays the $2/$3 or $3/$5 games at the Horseshoe. In my experience, I find the games dominated by tight nitty regulars who will sit for hours waiting for some dumb, rich tourist to wander into their game and dump a couple of buy ins.Can the games be beat? Sure. Probably rather easily by someone who will play just slightly looser and more aggressive
No one is sitting around waiting for rich dumb tourists at Horseshoe. They are grinding the hours for the weekly PATs, 50 hour satellite promos, tier credits, or combination of three.
Obviously if you think you can both have more fun and win more money at Aria and Wynn it seems like a no brainer to do that. Sign yourself up as you say, but I think everyone realized this.

Agree with everything besides the high variance part. There is not much variance playing with a table full of omcs.
I’m doing it to try to bink off a main seat, and skipping the line with 7 star has been a nice bonus no waiting for a game. Definitely won’t be back after 50 hours though.

Why? Because of the promos! Nobody cares how the games are if they can get the 50 hours and break even or make a little profit.
I’m setting the line at 564
But since you have a 2+2 account it means you have an IQ north of 150 and welcome subtraction so it’s sweet sweet music
It is my understanding that, as of yesterday, over 1000 players have achieved the qualifying hours.
What % of them will play is a different question entirely, but pretty much every local that I know who plays poker is giving it a shot.
There will also be a significant no. of semi-local, semi-reg players that live within a 4-5 hour drive or 90 min flight that are 100% attending.

I bet they get far more than they expected. They're going to have to run Flights for the tables they can get. I doubt they can get a hundred tables even for the qualifiers they have, and this is just the first week of May. This could be 2 days at least.
They will just screw everyone like they did many years ago and the day of the tournament change the structure to a turbo.

Scotch can adjust upwards but FYI I believe last time the number qualifying was 800-900 and 288 ended up playing
But like I said, it was sweet music to my ears to hear people waving that white flag
This will get higher retention for sure though

LOL
There are players who play at the $2/$3 almost every single day. They got their 50 hours for the WSOP freeroll weeks ago. They average 30+ hours for each 1/2 week PAT. I am guessing that between the double tier credits and the CR credit card they are Diamond Plus.
They just sit there, fold and look at their phones/computers for hours each and every day waiting for some dumb tourist to come by and stack off with top pair bad kicker. They aren't there to be social, they are there for more than the PATs, promos, and double TCs.
I find it hilarious that you constantly think you speak for all players.
Unsurprisingly you completely missed the point about being able to beat to the bigger games at the Wynn or Aria. It wasn't a suggestion.
Thanks for the usual laughs though.

I find it hilarious that you think we needed a sassy essay with question marks to describe the situation.
It’s a room with a ton of promos and high hands. It’s clear what type of games they would be.
But you changed your tune, you said they were there waiting for a whale (they aren’t) and basically repeated my post back to me.
Just saw a post on PH Instagram account about the new room - looks interesting enough that I will check it out while I’m in Vegas for WSOP.
I'll be checking out PH next week and report on it
PH offering $1/$1 PlO which Linq used to offer. Yippee. Can't wait.

looks so sterile
what happened to the good ol' PH
With the trees and stone, I just get Sesame Street vibes
And that's why the games were so good cause people like you thought the same way and didn't play at PH either.
Yeah +1. I have thousands of hours on the live poker felt during the past 10-12 years, and several of the best/most profitable games ive played ever have taken place at the old PH room out on the casino floor.
Cry me a river that regs that cant take the music or loud noise dont want to play there, thats as you say a big big reason why the games were so insanely good for a long long while.
No sterile environment that scare the fish or big punters, basically no silent headphones/tablet grinders, straddle was common so was blind raises to juice up the game even further+ alot more was the recipe for success.

The new room at Planet Hollywood. There's more room up there than I thought.
^^^
When the bean counters figure out the profitability per square foot, the results look terrible, and the room gets closed.
What can poker players not complain about?
New poker room that most have not been to
Online players complaining about not enough Pennsylvania players in the pool yet.
Give it a few chances then report back.
