Contrary to what a lot of people here are saying, note that it says "next to the Pleasure Pit".

Did it open today like it says?

this description is from the old room/space, it is not about the soon-to-reopen space

No, I read somewhere it will open somewhere between May 9th and May 12th.

May 12th is when the Chainsaw mixed series of poker starts there, so for sure by then.

Old info from poker atlas. Will not be on floor.

I was at Horseshoe grinding on the 50 hours* today when the guy in charge of Caesars' room stopped by. He knows one of the regs, and seemed to be excited about the new room. He said they were on schedule to get the room finished on time.

* I'm having second thoughts on this 50 hours thing. It's mind-numbing and I'm losing more money than I expected, as in more than simply entering the tournaments, other than the Main.

Also doing the 50 hrs and games seem pretty good to me. Been playing 2/3 and 3/5 when it runs.
I do hope Caesar’s is not a promotion room though.

I lasted 20 hours before quitting. A friend of mine lasted less than that before he quit.

My understanding is that Caesars will not be a promo room (Double Tier Credits notwithstanding) but that PH will be.

Mgmt also seem keen to avoid cannibalizing their player pool and are keen to try and offer different 'experiences' in the different rooms. I can see PH becoming a Tournament Hub with Horseshoe and Caesars catering to Cash Promo and Cash Non Promo players.

There is also some interest in trying to offer non standard cash games at PH to further differentiate themselves and potentially attract a different, more recreational, crowd. Low max buy-in games where recs can dip their toe in the water without being intimidated by large stacks in youtube popularized 'new' variants such as PLO or bomb-pot games - massive rake traps, but potentially fun, drinking, gambling games.

LOL, good to know I'm not the only quitter. It seems like there are things I could better spend the time and money on. Since I'm not a local, there's definitely a cost to grinding this no matter how much I have in comps.

PHo has always been that type of room as long as I can remember. They had good comps (wonder if I can use my old comps, lol) with that pizza joint. They were also adventurous with the poker room. They had Mizrachi as "ambassador" playing in their little dailies. They even had a heads-up chinese poker table when that was all the rage.

This new Caesar's room is beyond awful.
So you walk thru the strip mall and play in that room?
Could it be more antiseptic?
Feels like walking thru an operating room and then being in that closet?

The past few summers I spent easily 50 hours in that room over 2 weeks (I went to a few other rooms, but Caesar's was my favorite) and based on this, I only plan to stop by, look at the floor person and say, "I know it's not your fault nor was your decision, but this new room is an absolute joke and I cant believe anyone approved this, maybe next summer I'll play here again, the old room was in the perfect location and was an absolute blast to play in, but this, this is absurd"

Fortunately, when the poker gods close a door (Caesar's) they open a window (PH is back!! overlooking the main floor?!)

Wow that floor man is going to need counseling after that tirade

The old room was ok, but that library in back was a lil’ lame and on the left side there are some goofy table games that people play and get loud

It’s a temp poker room so who really cares that much but the finished product will be very different.

Yep instead of 800 runners, you’ll have 797 entires. Good luck. Have fun.

I’m setting the line at 564

But since you have a 2+2 account it means you have an IQ north of 150 and welcome subtraction so it’s sweet sweet music

FWIW, Planet Hollywood posted on Instagram that they are opening the new room in 5 days (posted 13 hours ago, so I guess this means Thursday):

"5️⃣ days to go until the all-new Planet Hollywood Poker Room opens! Your straight flush moment is coming!"

Someone needs to read their marking slogans aloud. At least they did not call it a courtesy flush

"Wow that floor man is going to need counseling after that tirade"

Re-reading what I wrote a day later, I deserved that.

But I'm just so disappointed they took away one of the things I most look forward to all year long.
I teach high school in a major messed up US city and I leave for Vegas literally within 36 hours of the last day of the year and when I get stressed I picture myself either sitting in that massive sportsbook smiling like the guy in Shawshank when the music played or in that poker room just getting away from everything in my life. To go from that atmosphere to the one shown as the temporary room is deflating.

So now I picture myself at the Golden Nugget room and walking down Fremont street at night

Nah man, it’s all good. You like the room and are disappointed.

But Golden Nugget has a cool vibe. Maybe a hundred steps or so from Fremont.

I don't understand why anyone plays the $2/$3 or $3/$5 games at the Horseshoe. In my experience, I find the games dominated by tight nitty regulars who will sit for hours waiting for some dumb, rich tourist to wander into their game and dump a couple of buy ins.

Can the games be beat? Sure. Probably rather easily by someone who will play just slightly looser and more aggressive than the regs, but at a low hourly amount that involves huge variance.

They are the type of games where the most interesting decision you will have all night is whether you should slow play/minimize the pot on hands where you flop bottom set because there is a reasonable chance you could be beat by a bigger set.

Sure, part of being a good player is minimizing losses in situations where others would lose way more, but that is not a fun way to be a good poker player.

I would rather be a good poker player where I am figuring out ways to maximize my wins or making solid calls that look like hero calls to the unknowing.

If a player is good enough to beat the nitty regs at the Horseshoe $2/$3, they are probably good enough to beat the $5/$10 (or at least the $2/$5) at the Aria or Wynn for a greater hourly amount.

The games are definitely beatable, but it would be like watching grass grow while stabbing your eyes out with rusty ice picks. Sign me up for something else. Why?
