check that time synchronization...

I got in early and stayed for three hours. I probably recognized at least a hundred clips that were used. Talking to one of the ticket takers who told me that Ari Aster stopped in last week. I'm going to do a longer write up on it. I've now seen about five hours of the film.

This reminds me of this dvd set I bought a couple decades ago about Avant-garde Cinema from 1894 to 1941...
I had seen several hours of it at a modern Art Museum in Memphis where it was playing in loop form and this drove me to seek out a full set of the films for my collection.

What time is it on Charlie Sheen’s watch before the ambush at the beginning of Platoon.

Entertaining read on how an amateur ornithologist/sleuth tracked down why in the movie Charlie's Angels a bird pictured in an important plot point of the movie has the wrong name AND the wrong song.

The author talks to screenwriters, animal handlers, post production sound guys, and even the director of the movie to get to the bottom of what he says is a huge controversy in birding circles. LOL

Great read!

this is a time on a LeCoultre in a Great Film... Electra Glide in Blue

this is the time on a debadged Omega wall clock in another Iconic Film... The Seven Year Itch

and while this isn't the time of your Sheene... this is the Watch that Martin Sheene is wearing in Apocalypse Now because it was one of the most iconic time pieces from the late 60's early 70's Vietnam theater of combat. The Seiko 6105

yes, my watch... The SLA033

The original divers sold for less than $100 in BXs in the 60s. If you took r&r in Hong Kong, you could get them for half that. I still have one, I think, but it hasn't worked in a long long time.

DO NOT get rid of it... it could be fixed.

That's a beautiful Seiko

It is... seiko makes a LOT of watches, and they make tens of thousands of what are 'Turtle case' watches based around slight variations of the original 1960's seiko 6105 diver because its such an iconic shape. None of them are the same layout as the original.

About ten years ago, seiko chose to release an exact homage to that 1960s iconic time piece, the Seiko sla033... a limited run of 2500 pieces except they used a modern caliber mechanism and the hand assembled and hand finished each piece using a Watch Maker... and the watch was built in the Grand Seiko watch facility where only there top tier watches are made. The original had a retail of around 100 bucks, and the modern piece was around 4500$... not really high-end, but its still a beautiful vintage period piece.

Sinners was really great imo. Going to be hilarious when Jack O’Connell wins the only Oscar from it, and none of the original songs even get nominated.

JOC’s debut role was as a 15yo skinhead named Pukey. I did not know Steinfeld was engaged to Josh Allen.

Easiest ‘equation’ review ever:

Sinners=[(Django+Flower Moon)xDusk Til Dawn]^Black Snake Moan

Warfare - well done, intense....but not really a movie...more a reenactment.

The Luckiest Man In America - about the Press Your Luck scandal where one guy memorizes the pattern and wins over 100k. Paul Walter Hauser, Walton Goggins, and David Straithairn star. Has it's moments, but it is weirdly structured and ultimately falls flat.

yes, please

This could be good, but I try to never get my hopes up for a 2 movie. They've missed the flop too many times

I hate when movies and shows that are primarily action/horror/thriller type content that try to pay lip service to "family drama" crap like in that trailer.

That's what's great about John Wick. No family to give him crap over not being there. They killed off the wife right at the start. Good job, I like that.

Like that Keifer Sutherland show a few years ago, Designated Survivor. Terrorists wipe out the administration and most of the cabinet, and Sutherland becomes President and has to navigate a national tragedy, politics he's not used to, and a possibility that the attack was orchestrated inside the government.

Cool idea! I'm in.

But then three episodes in, we have scenes about his teen daughter and her love life. Like, who gives a ****?? That's when I turned off the show and never turned it on again.

Get off my lawn. If we find out that Saul is actually Chevy Chase, it could be funny.

Agree that Warfare was well done and worth watching. It stuck to the actual events, but so much so that it was kind of dry and undramatic. I would like to have known more about why the heck they were supposed be in that house in that hostile town in the first place.

Want more war? Try Winter War (1989). Thee hours of Finns in trenches fighting off waves of invading guess who?, Russians, trying to take their land in 1939. Also generally well made. Warning, you get to view exposed internal organs and the gathering of body parts that needed to be returned to loved ones.

That's enough real war for me for a while.

Undramatic?
I am not falling for the old 'kill shot equals drama' definition...
