This topic always makes me wish The Offspring had called their album Chinese Democracy back when Axl was in full Howard Hughes mode. I think the label nixed it.

My Annual/Semi-Annual watch last night... it looks great upscaled on the Monitor from 1080p. Beautiful deep blacks.
You watch/listen all the way through the end credits obviously.

New Karate Kid looks excruciatingly bad. Fight Or Flight looks like the homeless man’s Bullet Train, which I guess grossed $230M so I understand why they made it.
The new movie "The Surfer" is a trip. It so should have been called "Surfer Club," after "Fight Club." It is so much in the same vein ... part reality, part fantasy, part hallucination that you have to try to track. "Fight Club" as a title would have given it much more box office, imo. I wonder if there would be an issue with copyright. Titles are not copyrighted per se, but if
Have not seen fight club ,but saw surfer and it was absolutely trippy. I don't think I still fully understood it and I'm usually decent at catching a movies interpretations. My gf has never walked out of a movie and we almost did.. glad we did not because it got better in the 2nd half..
This movie kinda reminded of the chaos of uncut gems.
Don't know where I place this movie but it was sure trippy.

I'm quoting this just to tell you about my colleague and late friend Charles. Charles would travel places with a couple other college professors who were published writers. So the two women happened to know Nelson Algren, and the three of them visited him in, I think, Chicago.
They are sitting around when a black woman brings Algren a martini. Charles looks at her and asks her to bring him one, to which she replied, "Get your own ****ing martini."
Turns out it was Algren's wife, not the maid.

Gives me the chills! I’m glad I don’t live there anymore but I really think everyone should try to live there at some point

Got to MOMA before 10:00 this morning to get on the waiting list to see The Clock. Museum opens at 10:30. Fortunately, they open the doors at 10:00 but no entrance until then.
Still might take an hour or so just to get in to see the film. Wished I knew you could get on the wait-list online.

Have lived most of my life in NYC , grew up there in the 80's during the crack phase and lived there most of the 2000s , it truly is a different place to everywhere else I have lived in. I can feel the energy.
