Tomorrow I'm bringing posing trunks to the gym to get pictures in this spot and going first thing in the morning before anyone shows up to run through poses. Posing is basically HIIT cardio. So instead of fasted walking, just get up, eat meal 1, add sodium, hydrate well, taxi to gym, hopefully arrive before 7, pose for 35-50 minutes, walk 5km home, eat, nap.

There is a massive war on reality/truth right now and I'm not sure anything can be done about it. Feeding people with just facts kills room for independent thought. But that also doesn't mean any idea should get to be a fact. There is massive, massive misinformation being taken in by massively large numbers of people. There also seems to be a massive accidental campaign to get people to align to a certain narrative that is largely factual but mixing in too much subjectivity to be actually factual. I have no idea how we as a society should try to balance it out.

I'm pretty confident voting in Trump to keep free speech/ideas alive wasn't the right move, though (he doesn't actually prioritize free speech in the first place, it just seems like it to many people). OTOH, the reaction to Trump over the last many years also seems bad. Erasing free speech/ideas is super bad.

The benzo thing never fails to amuse. One of the downsides of universal healthcare is that there isn't care for things like prescribed narcotic abuse and a lot of docs who thing they can "handle it". Grunching the last couple pages for now. But wanted to get your (and anyone else) input on something that is in the ether right now. There are a lot of stories floating around about how everyone uses AI to "cheat" in school. It seems a real easy fix to this problem which no one is bringing up is to just do more tests/essays in class with pencil and paper. I am actually old enough this is how I did most of my finals in college. Of course going by the penmanship skills of my son and his cousins, students will also have to be re-taught how to write with pencil and paper. But still seems like the best solution.

That’s been happening at my kids’ high school for several years. In Australia 50% of your final high school mark/Uni entrance is course work and 50% exams.

Chat gpt was launched in Nov 22 and my eldest’s final HS year started in Jan 23 and by that time they’d switched all the assessed course work from home completed essays/assignments to be tests/mini exams done under exam conditions

Yesterday had an enormously productive day. 17k steps, 1 hour 15 minutes of posing (predictably the overhead lights were turned off, so I spent 35 minutes trying to find a good spot/angle/setup), then another 15 minutes of posing at the end of the day which caused me to go extremely hypo despite feeling very full. Retatrutide insulin sensitivity is real wow. It just blows metformin and berberine out of the water, even if I'm not getting much appetite suppression out of it from having escalated a bit too slow. Next dose (wednesday) I'll go up to 3mg e5d. I'm starving basically all throughout the day except immediately pre and post workout.

This works well for a lot of things, but not great for writing.

Yeah, you can have a kid bang out something in an hour and his ability to do that will likely be correlated with his ability to do a bigger project. But practical writing isn't something that one generally does in an hour on some (presumably) previously unseen question. With AI, it is extremely easy to cheat on the type of assignments that would best assess the ability to write something more substantive.

I haven't coded anything in a long time, but I presume the same thing probably applies in that space as well. You can test a kid on some tricky coding questions, but that is a different from writing code to do something practical. The abilities are probably correlated, but I assume not perfectly so.
