How much of a bankroll does RICE already have?
Is it something like $200K+?
Add $100K to that and that is only $300K.
Does RICE even know how to invest beyond index funds & such? How is he going to generate income (income beyond 3% or so)?
Does he know how to read a balance sheet, statement of cash flow, income statement?
Let us say he has $300K and generates 7% income on that per year, that is only about $20K. He is then going to have to pay taxes on that.
I think it would difficult for RICE to generate 7% a year income without getting lucky OR taking high levels of risk (or both).

The answer is yes with a but. He probably does live off less than 1250 a month currently employing his iteration of the nomadic methodology. But that's heavily subsidized by his parents and cheap casino accommodation due to his diamond status.
Take away the heavily discounted rooms, add in $45 per night resort fees and the jig is up. Even if he stays exclusively at $40 per night Airbnbs for 25 nights a month and the other 5-6 nights he strategically utilizes his patented homeless challenges, that still comes to $1000 per month for housing alone.
Currently the vast majority of his food is paid for entirely with comps, and certainly all the decent quality food is. So take away his status and comps and his food bill will also go way up and the quality of food he eats will go way down.
It seems Rice is finally confronting the harsh reality which has been staring him in the face for the last 2 years. That being the world's nittiest 1/2 promo grinder was never going to be a sustainable career path. He probably got to a point where he realised that he couldn't cut his spending any more but his earnings kept getting lower and lower.

Proclaims an absurd hourly at 1/3 and 2/5 to gain coaching students and to rake ppl in his online poker club and 5 months into 2025 he is still down overall and the last couple vlogs hasnÂ’t proclaimed that crazy hourly he had before.
Theres no way diesel could handle that workload of 80 hours a week. He sets challenges to work 200 hours in a month right now , meaning thats not his standard. He thinks an average workload as a poker player, and one that i would call a light workload, makes him a super grinder, as has been said many times hes very delusional. I was actually impressed last year that he didn't quit the first week and actually dealt almost every single day of the Orleans series. Seemed like he was making progress but then he regressed to this 1/2 single digit hourly nonsense.
80 hours seems high but not by much compared to last year.
Actions speak louder than words. He can speak in riddles about his putrid hourly or make excuses for not playing but him playing way less, getting a dealer job last year and another one this year shows even he knows he can't sustain himself from playing poker.
If he was still making that sweet 13-14 dollars an hour he used to make from playing never would have dealt.

FT employment will improve the quality of his diet (1 or 2 Employee Dining Room meals (PHo &/or Orleans) plus four employee lounge Gatorades or milks each day. 😀
If he was smart, he could partner with 1-2 roommates he knows for a better permanent (or at least stable for March - September plus) living situation vs. bouncing around multiple Airbnbs for months while in Vegas.
Employee Dining Rooms (PHo + Orleans) will be his new food comps, will sustain or possibly improve his current Vegas food quality. With “FT” work, sounds like he still wants to return to NY for at least a month or two, so don’t see him signing a permanent lease for now. Perhaps in 2026 and break down and do it if he knows he can deal 1,500 hours plus in Vegas between PHo, WSOP and circuit events. Can fly for a few weeks to visit family at year end.

In the 3rd grade they don't really call it math, it's arithmetic.
1500/month is 18k a year, which he would need 9% on 200k. Most people could make that much after someone shows them how to do it. But Diesel cannot do it, because he won't listen, and would refuse to make 9% when he can get 4% or 5% just from the dividends.

I don't think you have to pay income tax on an income that low. He still can't live on that unless mom's basement is available. Maybe the back yard is available and he only needs a tent. He could then get one of those battery "generators" and some solar cells. Not only would he have a place to plug in the rice cooker, but he gets to be green while doing it.
