I cannot fathom how anyone would think it was a negative on Harris that she was a former prosecutor. If she prosecuted a lot of crimes, that means that she did her job well. Do you think the position shouldn't exist at all? Does that fact that someone was a prosecuting attorney really mean that she was likely to support genocide??

The whole political game got boring overnight for me.
The people I argued with for 6 months in discord before the election have all become completely apolitical. They aren't exactly admitting they were wrong, and certainly aren't admitting I was right, but they are absolutely avoiding the conversation. The same conversation they leaned into emphatically before the election they are like the Homer disappearing into the bushes meme. This is as close to admitting they were wrong as it will get.
I see here most rightys aren't even there yet. They are still wearing the mask, putting up the facade, pretending that everything is fantastic.
You can see cracks forming in the Twitter legions. There are still the relentless reply guy bots under every post, but the actual humans driving the legions are fracturing as their confidence wanes. Many crypto posters specifically, who were instrumental in getting Trump elected, are pretending like they were centrists the whole time and knew Trump was ******ed.
This isn't to say nature is healing. Nature can't heal, we have 3.75 more years of this left. But it bodes well for mid terms and 2028

There is certain cluster of traits associated with those who pursue the DA position. It's seen as a political stepping stone for ambitious types who want to cater to a certain white middle class suburban type which includes a mix of those who claim to be anti-racist but feel super uncomfortable around actual minorities and those who are on the edge of forming a lynch mob if they see a black person walking too close to the gates of their gated community. There is a lot of baggage associated with the DAs office as they typically function in the defense of ill gotten gains against any exploited people looking to get something back. When you get into a who-is-tougher-on-crime contest you're going to be acquiring a lot of rightwing stink on yourself.
In the case of Harris she took it past the normal limits. She did things like jail parents for their child's truancy. And then she cackled about it upon recollection in the charming way she does. She's just such a nauseating loaf of crap and her campaigns for and tenure as prosecutor really brought that to light.

You can't govern if you don't get elected, and the Democrats' campaign was incompetent. They failed to get Biden to stand down till too late, they failed to hold primaries and it's often been said that their eventual candidate Harris would not have succeeded in primaries because she obviously wasn't electable enough.
And Biden's tenure was economically OK but hardly stellar. He was persuaded to sign up to crazy woke stuff which proved electoral poison. Few people in their right minds ever want to hear about Sam Brinton or Rachel Levine again. Or Lia Thomas for that matter. Nor do they want the body responsible for air traffic control operating a positive discrimination policy in favour of people with schizophrenia. (Schizophrenic candidates may not have been appointed ATCs -- or have they? -- but the look of such a policy is obviously bad.)
