The "LOLCANADA" thread...again

So what's new?

I've noticed the Liberals are now ahead in all major polls and Trudeau hasn't even started to campaign yet

One of the funniest things is one of the coldest countries in the world believes it is leading the charge in stopping the temperature from increasing by not embracing its oil resources.

I'm not sure what you think is funny exactly, but down here in reality Canada has record oil exports - in large part due to the Liberals building the transmountain pipeline. THANK YOU TRUDEAU!

Lozen, I'm going to challenge you. This is just for you. I don't know whether Carney wins or loses tonight. But either way, I encourage you to take a moment of reflection and snap out of the partisan rut you've been trapped in for a while. Don't whataboutism or try to turn this onto me. Just take that time to reflect on whether the kind of poster you've been in the last about 1-1.5 years as your opinion on Trudeau solidified and see if that is what you want going forward. An election probably brings out the worst in all of us, but regardless of tonight's winner, I challenge you to be better.

Go Bloc Québécois go !
Prevent a majority :p !!

I don’t trust either of them ….

Fix it for you .
Don’t be so hard , lozen had a bad dose during Covid that’s all …

It was quite clear from the overwhelming supermajority of MP support for Carney (and then 85% in vote) that yes, everyone else felt exactly how I did. I like Freeland. But absolutely 100% fair to call what she did “backstabbing”, just read the letter.

She didn’t backstab him .
She saved the boat because Trudeau was like the titanic captain not believing in iceberg .
She saved the party from that idiot .
If you call someone traitor because he prevent all the sheep’s behind to jump the bridge because their leader are too blind to see it , fine.

But disagreeing with someone because you realize they follow a death path and are just being lead by ideology and not pragmatism I don’t call them a traitor .

Trudeau had big flaws , he was far from perfect so do not become a blue maga…
The results are clearly showing freeland did the right thing !
Someone dying on the sword of its leader just because he said so while not caring about the rest of the party isn’t a loyal person , his an idiot followers like any maga …

He removed her as finance minister just because she thought a 1.6 billion $$ GST cut was stupid days before she was to present the economic plan . So she resigned . You do realize that move probably saved the Liberal party as Trudeau may have not stepped down

Big day will see what happens I heard even Pierre’s seat in jeopardy as well as the Bloc leader

+1
Power is a drug hard to get rid of .

I am an American with property in Canada and follow the news/politics pretty close. The entire Canadian system is broke beyond repair. There was a massive influence campaign around the trade war to keep the same crooks in power and it worked flawlessly.Carney will win in a walk. No one really has a chance against the Soviet style propaganda channel that is modern Canadian media

Nah , Canadians just know their history better to know how to vote for …
the Canadian pendulum didn’t move much
Carney is a typical federalist centrist like Chrétien , Martin , Mulroney .

Trudeau and polievre are the ones that move way further to the left or right abandoning the center .

But your American side voting maga -> lol …
There is not 1 president , republicans or democrat that supports trump .
That should speak volume by itself …
But hey it’s not US that are being drowned by propaganda-> Russia is your friend lol …

100%, this was obvious from the very beginning of the whole tariffs debacle. We will know this because as soon as the election is over the sky is falling rhetoric will stop.

You mean when trump rhetoric as stop ?

is today an holiday in Canada with elections? or it's like in the USA where you vote on a working day?

by jchristo

Man sometimes you read a comment like that and realize how bad things have gotten. Some of these audiences are just entirely captured by foreign and domestic bad actors. xrdegen, before you accuse us of being in our state-controlled Canadian bubble, I just want to assure you that I don't really consume that much domestic content or get my news from it lol. Like most Canadians,

Those that consume too much social media can’t really stop 2 sec and reflect, they can’t think for themselves.
So obviously they think everyone else are like them except they consume « fake » mainstream media’s instead because how else other people can think differently ….

I mean it’s not very hard to stop 2 sec and think if it makes sense or not and make your own conclusion .
But for those addicted social « medias » it’s impossible .

That is as dumb of an argument as it snowed yesterday in late April climate change isn't real

Yup like the 300 experts about fiscal law in Canada were all crooks because they believe carbon tax was not what you believe even tho they have only phd in that domain throughout the entire Canadian universities system including Alberta …

U just prove his point …
Ah I forget , like trump maga , all universities are all radical leftist.
My bad .

Sure. She can be the iceberg. I'm not necessarily saying she was wrong even. But she was the one that finally took him out. And I think she mostly did it for selfish reasons, thinking she had a shot at being where Carney is today.

Not a holiday but by law, everyone who is eligible to vote must have three consecutive hours to cast their vote on election day. If their hours of work do not allow for three consecutive hours to vote, the employer must give them time off.

I wish we had Australia's format. Ranked choice and voting is mandatory.

Usually people can make dual beneficial actions without being seen as a traitor .
On the contrary what benefits trudeau did for the party by staying so long ?
The results were as clear as day for months if not a year plus …

Freeland did the right thing for the benefit of saving the party .
Maybe she had personal Interest in it but so what , it’s politic , every politicians do ….
To me clearly carney was a favorite from the start and I doubt freeland didn’t suspecting it .

All that « traitor » talk to me have absolutely no place for a narrative , she was just being pragmatic while Trudeau was not and aimed at burning the liberal party to the ground if he stayed …

Wasn't there a candidate 9 or so years ago that promised electoral reform like you are suggesting ?

Canada has x3 the reserves of the US but less than 40% of the production. We should be sending our oil all over the world, but we are not because.....

Your not wrong that move added 600,000 barrels a day to a market other than the USA. Imagine if we had two more and LNG as well

by uke_master

Guys I went to the GOVERNMENT PROPAGANDA website the CBC which is PAID FOR BY THE GOVERNMENT AKA LIBERALS on election day and it is so biased I am just going to have to vote for the liberals. You know what it does? It's so biased. It quotes from the platform of every party on each issue. It just takes the things the parties say in their platforms, and then summarizes them. GOVE

Very informative page. Its funny I consider the bloc more radical than the peoples party which has some good policies of course there are a few I just cant accept

There's a huge LNG project happening now? Kitimat is already shipping it?

Also O & G prices and Canadian production costs have been the primary reason for less production than States? Duh? There's never been a time where it was an obvious cost-benefit balance to put in that infrastructure (let alone the political capital).

And yeah, I'm annoyed at Trudeau about electoral reform promises that were broken. It's one of the most damning things on his record to me. Although he wasn't exactly proposing what I want.

Well do tell. Because…..

the only logical conclusion: some sort of cabal of centrists who hate the people!

It’s funny the bloc been formed by an old PC cabinet member , PC being even less radical then the reform party and yet lozen full on polievre reform party membership …
