The difference is back then there was no social media to document these things. There were no camera phones. There weren't thousands of news outlets. Basically, I don't think ICE is the gestapo and I don't think Trump is Hitler.
I don't think much camera footage is making its way out of the Salvadoran prison to show what is happening to people there, or even to show they weren't all dropped in the, umm, Gulf Of America on the way there.
And you do realize that Trump is attempting to shut down all news outlets that say anything negative about him, right? Hitler couldn't accomplish everything immediately either.
I doubt that Trump will ever kill as many unwanteds and become generally as bad as Hitler, but it sure won't be from lack of trying.

Well I thought you were close. Maybe you missed my post about projectiles?
You were telling stories about how men playing with men and girls playing with girls both got extremely severe injuries, just like people worry will happen when trans athletes are involved.
But then you somehow think the solution is for everyone to get the opportunity to be hit in the face so hard they need surgery. The real solution is for no one to be put at unnecessary risk of painful, disfiguring, brain damaging, possibly even fatal injuries.
Or at least no one under the legal age of consent should be allowed to participate in such activities. You probably wouldn't allow, much less encourage, your child to play in the middle of a busy road. Or to play chicken with their cars like James Dean. Or to jump off a bridge if all their friends were doing it.
But many parents practically force their children to put themselves in close vicinity to solid clubs being waved in their faces and hard balls being hurled at high velocities, towards which they are expected to run!
Instead, why don't we try to keep our children attached to their undamaged heads?

I guess it teaches the lesson that some people are stronger and more coordinated than others, which often leads to them becoming bullies.
But I think most could learn that just from observation without encouragement.
And it builds teamwork at the expense of ostracizing those who aren't good enough to make the team and vilifying the opposing team.
It can make people better potential soldiers, but I wish those weren't so necessary.

I agree but it's ultimately irrelevant as bottom line there's still an unfair advantage at play, regardless of motivation for transitioning.

you'll regularly get women who played D1 on full scholarships in these leagues and they are easily the worst player on a team of guys who stopped playing baseball at little league
All competitive D1 women's basketball teams (and at least some WNBA teams) practice against men (who, by definition, stopped playing after high school). It's the only way to have a challenging practice because the back half of the roster sucks. The me are always limited on what they can do - no dunking, no jumping for rebounds, no blocking shots, no trying to steal the ball of the dribble, etc. Why? Because if the men were allowed to do those things it would be no contest and not a good practice. But hey, there's no advantage in being biologically male.
