I started watching B5 but put it on the back burner after 5 episodes. I read that it gets a lot better in later seasons but the few I've seen are very 90s and a lot like early DS9 episodes before they gave Sisko a badass makeover.

I started watching B5 but put it on the back burner after 5 episodes. I read that it gets a lot better in later seasons but the few I've seen are very 90s and a lot like early DS9 episodes before they gave Sisko a badass makeover.
B5 was reportedly the main reason they remade DS9 to a moar fluent story with the Dominion war. Yeah I understand what you're saying, but basically the whole first season, it has some highlights, but basically it is all just build up for the main story arc. Can be hard to digest. Even the highlights you prolly appreciate more after you have seen it all.

Bab 5 is great, but understandably looks outdated these days. Still the only Science Fiction show I'm aware of where you have people not only going to the rest room, but also have conversations there.
