Caesars Poker Room to close for remodeling? mid July
Played today and the word going around is the rooms closing for remodeling. Not sure on the date of closing (heard maybe
This bothers me a lot.
Caesar's was my favorite room and I go every summer for 2 weeks
It's has just the right amount of "man cave, guy energy" to be fun.
Bottles and cups all over the place, the sports book right next to it
Not like the morgue like atmosphere at cleaner, more pristine rooms.
8 tables? That'll be the smallest room in vegas
They had 20 tables running almost 24-7
Looks like I'll be at horseshoe and bellagio much more often
I cant imagine the how long the lists will be at Caesar's.
It was bad enough when Planet Hollywood shut down their room
There are tons of morons in casino management so you can be right. But with that said they also have data that none of us do. Even a pretty empty slot room might be making more than the poker room.
Actually no. The key number is not how much that room generates but how much in total slots bring in. If the new space simply cannibalizes the current slot space it is negative as each slot machine costs the casino money. Much of this is driven by current executives needing to make changes from current procedure to justify their jobs or various kickbacks/embezzlement opportunities the changes generate. Casino executives are not loyal to their employer they are loyal to themselves.
they were open... that part is true.
Without a poker room, Caesars is not worth going into as far as I care. I can play slots or blackjack a lot of other places.
I think I may have been the one to say 8 tables. I believe the public number is actually 16. If so on both…mea culpa.

Unless you're Diesel and grinding Diamond, it wasn't worth going in when the poker room was open.
In before someone says that there were plenty of drunk people coming out of Omnia to play poker at 3 am.
Bullshit. I go to Omnia every weekend and most people there complain about the drink prices. If they can't afford a $30 drink they're not sitting down to play poker not even with $100.

I didn't care about the drunk people. The slutty hot chicks in very skimpy clothes, OTOH...
Thought I would mention that a mid May mixed game tournament schedule has been posted for Planet Hollywood.

Guess the PHo poker room rumors are true?
Kessler reports an announcement is coming in the next few days
weird that there are concrete rumors PH is opening before Caesars. or not weird.
Over at VegasMessageBoard, someone wrote the following regarding Caesars:
-----
"I have it directly from a dealer who will go back to working there when Caesars Palace reopens that they are pushing to open eight tables now so they have something during the World Series and they will have 22 tables in the fall when they fully reopen."
-----
Since it's only coming from a dealer I am not sure how credible the source is, however I assume that means that the dealer(s) have been informed they are soon expected to go back to work.

I guess it’s different for everyone but it was one of my favorite rooms because of the huge variety of interesting and mostly terrible randoms (only a handful of club-goers). Fast drink service too unlike Aria where you’re lucky to get 1 per hour. Evening and night only though…dry and dead during the day.
Apparently the new one is going to be off the casino floor a la Venetian where some kind of gift shop used to be but idk.
The location was great to attract a lot of people just walking by. I loved getting a whiskey and cigar at Monte Cristo and heading over.
def ph is gonna be a room.. I just hope it's not in the 2nd floor. I couldn't see cards there during phamous because it's so dark there.
I'll ask Kessler . he has an in there
I thought he was quoted earlier in the thread saying it's going to be in the old same spot.
Bring a pocket flashlight.
before the World Series of Poker starts
that's not an announcement. that's a loose comment from an interview that has nothing official or concrete.
they said the same thing last year "we plan on opening the Caesars Poker room for F1." talk is easy. they are constantly moving the goal posts farther away.
I have no interest in playing at CP so I'm not worried one way or the other. but as to the reality of them opening the "room", I'll believe it when I see it
Sure the regional president isn’t aware of plans for the next three months. Instead you put more faith in an unsubstantiated rumor from someone not affiliated with CET. Sure I will lend some credence to the PH rumor. It seems to be gaining traction but I will put much more credence that the regional president what’s up. Plus you can physically head over to Palace and see the progress.
