Caesars Poker Room to close for remodeling? mid July
Played today and the word going around is the rooms closing for remodeling. Not sure on the date of closing (heard maybe
Completely different for me. The only LV consistently cheaper is Linq. PH is right in line with Harrahs and Flamingo. Then next up is Horseshoe. Then Paris. With Caesar and Nobu clearly and far away the most expensive. Forget where Cromwell fit in but was above PH
Oth pricing and comp avails align with this
I agree with the other guy. PH is almost always one of the more expensive Caesars properties. I actually like their rooms better than all of the other properties besides Caesars palace (never stayed at Nobu) and the location as it's close to Aria, but it's generally a lot more than linq harrah's and horseshoe.
Why? Why would the opening/re-opening of another Poker room on the strip be a bad thing? Because you don't like the Regs or the Nits that play there?? Wouldn't this take those players out of seats at other rooms that you prefer to play at making those games more preferable to you?
Today's reliable source says reopening 16th May, 'only' 8 tables:
I just learned that Caesar's used to have a 63 table poker room.

The Statue of David is in a HALLWAY. On one side is a restaurant (active) wall. On the other side is a stairway to a bank of elevators.
On the elevator side are retail shops (active). Where exactly does the new poker room sit? If anyone has a map of exactly where new room will be built, it would be greatly appreciated, because rumors have been rampant and non-verifiable.
FYI to management: I have been to Caesars several times recently. The old poker room, now slots, next to the Sportsbook has been empty or near empty every time I visited, hardly ever used. While we all know poker is not nearly the revenue generator that slot machines are, I would venture to say that the old Caesars poker room made much more for them than the replacement slot room since it moved in to that space. Just food for thought before you start building; put the poker room back where it was, and continue making some money, rather than losing money in that space (not to mention all the ancillary business poker players bring such as restaurants, sports betting, friends/family floor play, etc). Nobody cares that you made a mistake, and if so, will readily forget.

It's not just the space. Poker room costs run much deeper than just paying dealers $14/hr.

Is this Diesel himself aka Rice? Eerily similar sentiments to that Rice video where he walked around filming all the idle slot machines to “prove” that casinos would be better off with more/bigger poker rooms. For the record, slot machines net a casino significantly more than poker rooms do even if they occasionally sit idle. None of the costly salary and benefits packages of dealers and floor people. No shufflers, chips, cards to buy or maintain. Way higher margins. And no misregs to deal with. When there was outsized demand for poker during the boom, rooms exploded on the strip. Well into the post-boom, we have seen rooms close. Outside of a select few weeks a year, there doesn’t seem to be much unmet demand for poker on the strip. It’s sad to all of us, but it’s the truth.

Sounds like you all already knew it was opening, but Caesars had made it official which is good news.
Happy to have been wrong about this.

The link is to an article from February, which I believe someone else already have posted here before. So I wouldn't take that link from Cardplayer as a definite confirmation.
That sounds like a gift shop. Off the casino floor, unlikely to get much drop-in traffic.
Other than Nobu, PH consistently has the highest priced rooms for me (and a few others I have talked to). The renovated rooms there are nice and seem to be the most attractive to new/younger money.Caesars Hotel brand is like the Cadillac brand. Attractive to a certain demographic of people, but that demographic is dying off and closer to being locked in a nursing home than spen
Good grief the restaurant selection and casino quality at PH is closer to the Rio than to Cosmo or Wynn/Encore. Im glad they upgraded some rooms but that place seems like a dump to me.

So the regional President doesn’t know or was lying to the media? He was very clear and to the point. I don’t see any wiggle room. Sure the date could be wrong as things can happen but reopening seems pretty certain.
"a source says it will open in mid-May" reliable sources also said it would open in November before F1
Well this time you have the regional President confirming, it will reopen including approx date and the location. That is pretty solid confirmation. The executive paying for it really should know.
Update: Caesars confirmed with Card Player that a temporary poker room will open in Appian way before the 2025 WSOP starts. A “permanent home for our new elevated poker room will be announced at a later date.”

Just more confusion if you ask me. Now is the room in Essentials space with 8 tables temporary or not? If temporary, temp for how long? Months? Years? Considering the time it is taking to “build” a temp room, I would not expect the perm room for a couple of years.
Where will perm room be? How many tables? When?
Might wing up being the old, baffle them with bull…
Or, hear me out, they could open the temp poker room now in the space by the sports book that's housing several slot machines. I would guess it could hold around 22 tables and already has many TVs around the perimeter to show stuff like sports, the waiting list and daily tourney screens. The front section seems perfect for a cashier and place for the floor to operate the waiting lists.
Who knows? Maybe it could become a permanent poker room one day.

There are tons of morons in casino management so you can be right. But with that said they also have data that none of us do. Even a pretty empty slot room might be making more than the poker room.
