First off let me explain to you how politics works in Canada . The liberals were the party in power so they try to deliver on their promises like clean drinking water, planting a billion trees, election reform, balanced budgets taking care of veterans and truth and reconciliation the conservatives are the party in opposition. It is not there responsibility to tell us what they will do instead until an election is called. Though they may promise things like axe the tax .
Now that an election is called they tell us what they plan to do when they win which they are doing

As for your question I have no clue how they will pay for a 2% tax cut just as I have no clue how Carney will pay for his tax cut . Here is the reality your interest payments on our debt have gotten so large as I have said before I do not think either will balance a budget in the 4 years they are in office . Im sure Carney will have some new magical accounting system to try and con us into believing he will balance the budget . Though Kudos to Carney he hasn't said Budgets Balance themselves

Ironically the decade old “budgets balance yourself” is exactly the conservative orthodoxy espoused by carney and poilievre. Namely, that if you grow the economy, then that growth pays for the higher revenue to kill the deficit. Poilievre hasn’t identified any program yet that costs money (carbon tax revenue neutral) he will cut to grow it. You never mention the full context.

Both Carney and Poilievre claim to pay for it in the identical way via reducing waste and lowering the size of the bureaucracy. I’m not sure why you seem skeptical of Carneys plan when Poilievre is approximately twice as expensive and therefore much less likely to be accomplished with this.
Worth remembering in the noise that the reduced second bracket was also due to Trudeau and he never edged that back upwards.
