In the spirit of the books and movies threads, here's one to talk about what you're listening to lately and what you hav
I was old enough to see these guys on MTV during their peak but not old enough to have gone to one of their concerts:
does anyone have a TR from one of their concerts back in the early 1980s?
I saw devo ~1980ish at the old Austin collisium, a venue originally designed for rodeos, wrasslin and gun shows. The only thing I remember is that they used lip syncing and pre-recorded music for some of their numbers. That was a first for me. I didn't get it, but was unsure if there was something to get.

I've been struggling with Syamali for about a week now.
Youtube keeps pushing her into my feed and I absolutely understand why - she's got a fantastic voice and the profile fits right into what I usually enjoy. (Also, she's obviously a very comely lass, but that's neither here nor there...)
But these songs just aren't that good no matter how many times I listen to them, so I've concluded that while she's awesome, she needs better song-writers.

Other than the fact that hats aren't universally worn anymore whatever happened to wearing your hat at a jaunty angle? These guys (and other musicians) used to do it. Ballplayers used to do it. Servicemen used to do it.
Now? Pretty much nobody does it. Bring it back!

I remember hearing a story about Sublime getting kicked off the first Warped Tour. They brought Brad's dalmatian Lou Dog on tour with them, and I guess he bit a couple of people. They said the dog had to go, but Sublime decided to quit rather than ditch Lou.

Yeah, there's not as much as I thought after watching it again. There's another video where she comes out and you can hear her say, "You got this, right?" and he's like whatever. Of course, his guitar comes unplugged and he messes up like he did in the video above. It's just funny because he really doesn't seem to care about making mistakes. Those dudes just like to get down, and she comes off a bit choreographed or artificial imo. Might just be me
I like her. A lot of my friends see her as mercenary but that goes over my head. If you're out there Gwynn, I think you're cool.
Gwen Stefani can do no wrong, not even possible. I just love her to death, lifetime pass. She's earned it.
