Come on. The average male ****s 7 women in their life?

That’s a ****ing horror story if true and Trump should move that to the most important problem to fix

Broken YouTube Link

i got many details wrong. my short term memory very below average. but 7 partners was correct

I can see why your shitlib friends hate when you talk about this.

And this will make then even madder.

Tho there can be quite a few things that should be said for "living an academic lifestyle" which IMO Emoken is v v close to. Academic lifestyles are basically low stress, low work, insanely heavy neckbearding. (well post tenure... in theory)

I very, very rarely let the mask slip in mixed company; even though my male friends are much more of a mixed bag politically and wouldn't excommunicate me for an opinion they didn't like were I to express it, I'm . . . not as confident the same courtesy would be extended were the wives around. Not altogether an uncommon experience I'd imagine, given the polling around political leanings in the USA #1, especially where I live.

If there is one thing that sticks with me through my own marriage, it was Montecoco saying "You shouldn't have to work at your marriage everyday. It should be easy." It was honestly one of the most poignant anecdotes in my life. (I've told my wife this story way too many times to tell.) But it should honestly just work. You aren't Sisyphus. You're just a dude trying to make a l

My feels. I'm glad it was useful (I do still stand by it).

I do think one of the most insidious and poisonous aspects of therapy culture (which I think most/all of us ITT will agree is not really designed or implemented in a way aligned with how men cope with life) is that you have to demonstrate that you're doing[emoji122]the[emoji122]work[emoji122] by talking to some midwit once a week, as if checking some boxes that you did some stuff means you're a good little boy that cares about the correct things in the correct way. One of the more at first depressing but then, upon further reflection, somewhat amusing (though still depressing) things I've learned about "the apps" is that there is some subset of women with either an implicit or explicit "don't contact if not in therapy" rule; that this is even a thing is profoundly blackpilling, but maybe it's just online ragebait and not a widespread thing. God willing I never find out firsthand, though it's a good criteria for filtration, I suppose.

by NotThremp

I can see why your friends view you as an infidel. One moment you're gonna talk about how we should jail a 40y old man for dating a 23y old woman, and next you're gonna talk about UBI. Insanity.

As I said, just the wives would/might. Given I don't think anything I think is really that extreme or severe, it does underscore how weird things are between the sexes right now.

As an aside, I was chatting with a buddy and his wife the other night and I brought up Sayre's Law, which I then had to gingerly explain (the wife is a university professor). My wife found it quite amusing afterwards. I think I saved it!

I actually genuinely enjoy your posts. Perhaps we've both mellowed in our elderly years and We can appreciate each other for what they bring to the table instead of what they don't.

Miracles do happen after all.

I would say this was the case until kids and, even worse for us at least, the pandemic. I don't regret having kids and I think I'm not rationalizing that point too much (although I understand I very well could be), but they make everything much "harder" imo/ime.

Renee Jewett maybe 2-3 years ago

I'm not exactly sure which pics I saw were from 2-3 years ago. But either way, does this type exist in China?

Average age: 37
lifetime partners: 7
divorced
198lbs
5'9 and 1/4th
26% bodyfat (35% on locoscale which I think is the true scale and the 26% is bullshit)
bench 135, squat 155, deadlift ?? forgot
68k usd/yr

I'm doing worse on more than one of those boxes. Time to end it?

Around 26% of Americans go to the gym at all, but among millenial and younger males I expect this number is closer to 60-75%.

This seems way too high (not from any source, just based on how often I hear massively low numbers of ppl who meet minimum physical guidelines).

still best thread on the forum

You're not wrong, but this is one of the lowest bars available.

I brought up Sayre's Law for some reason

Had to look that up. Seems like a relatively banal observation, although, obviously not to anyone in any dispute it applies to. Which is...all of Twitter at least.

7 partners seems artificially low, i would think it's dragged down by quite a rather large cohort that only had 0-3 partners before getting married

i'm guessing the median is a bit higher and the average is dragged down by people lying to make their number sound less slutty

otherwise i'm a top 1% performer and i refuse to believe that - i'm a reasonably good looking guy who is tall and somewhat funny in person but you see how i post, i am not smoove b whatsoever more just autistic claw maker

not my hand but if i'm not hand occupied this is their natural state

ok, help the old Aussie out again please. I've got to age 53 without ever encountering black pill, red pill, white pill...any other pill descriptors..before coming to this thread.

I did the standard exhaustive 8 sec google search and that didn't help me. can someone pl. send me a link/summary?

blue pill: be nice and you will get girls. Disney movies, advice normie women give men when it comes to attracting women. Romantic relationships are just about compatibility and everyone is unique and different and you'll find "the one" once you stop looking. "I don't care about a man's looks, it's all about confidence and personality".

red pill: women are lying about being nice getting girls, you gotta be alpha bro. Be dominant and don't exhibit too many prosocial characteristics. "looks don't matter" but if they do you definitely don't need surgeries and you can do it by just going to the gym and picking good clothing/hair. Anyone can become a high value man if they just work hard enough. Gotta be on your purpose. If you ignore girls and pretend to be busy and high powered this will magically make them involuntarily aroused for you (???)

black pill: Genes are destiny. Your looks and genes more generally hugely influence every aspect of your life, especially your romantic life. Female mating preferences aren't really different from males and are largely based on looks. In particular, face>height>race>body (frame). Gym will help but won't do any miracles. Very highly division within the community about internal vs external locus of control. Qoves studios is largely targeted toward neurotypical women, but is still a black pill channel and suggests that people have a lot of efficacy to improve their attractiveness while acknowledging that looks reign supreme in dating. Macken Murphy wouldn't accept the label, but is functionally black pilled (audience once again vastly neurotypical female slanted).

The really toxic elements of the black pill are all slanted toward neurodivergent males. Channels like rehab room, Tails, DBDR, or anything with the incel label. but they tend to sit around and complain and suggest that there is 0 hope and if you weren't born with attractive traits you should just give up and they come up with all sorts of excuses about how developing your body, moving to another country with a less competitive market, or cosmetic surgery are useless and "cope" and won't actually work to improve your romantic life. (I actually like Tails' channel even though he thinks bodybuilding or 'gymcelling' to get girls is a horrible idea). You'll get some really nasty misogyny coming out of these sub-communities which tends to make people reject the actually correct parts about the primacy of physical attractiveness while trying to identify them as some sort of terrorist organization. And if even I'm calling something misogynistic you know it's like REALLY bad.

The red pill is a massive cargo cult that observed how attractive men treat women who are much less attractive than them and assumed that the behaviours caused the attraction rather than the attractive man's looks. That's literally how PUA was invented. Complete nonsense.

Two things:
1. Attractiveness does not correlate very well to # of lifetime partners in either gender. IIRC it starts to form a weak negative correlation in women near the right tail. Most people do actually desire long term monogamous relationships (blue pill belief that seems empirically true)

The idea that all men would be promiscuous "if they could" is probably another red pill myth.

This blog author is a contemporary of Macken Murphy. Both are phd students in psychology researching human mating behaviour. He's a turbo-feminist but still could be called "Black pilled".

2. From ChatGPT:
"for American men, is the median or the average number of sexual partners higher?

ChatGPT said:
The average (mean) number of sexual partners is typically higher than the median in the U.S. for men. This is because the distribution of sexual partners is right-skewed—a small percentage of men report very high numbers of partners, which increases the mean but does not affect the median as much.

For example, if most men have between 5-10 partners, but a few report 50+, the mean will be pulled upward, whereas the median (the middle value) remains closer to where most men fall.

In general:

Median (the middle number) is usually lower and represents a "typical" experience.
Mean (average) is inflated by outliers who report very high numbers of partners.
Would you like specific recent survey data on this?"

Does this mean that a few attractive men are "hogging all the women" and having harems? No probably not. A few men over some basic threshold of attractiveness have extremely high levels of socio-sexuality are probably enjoying the services of several hundred professionals over 2-3 year spans between their normal monogamous relationships... or maybe continuing the professionals through the monogamous relationships.

feels,

Going up a level, the red pill/blue pill dichotomy comes from the original Matrix, where if you take the red pill you wake up to reality and if you take the blue pill you remain in the convenient fantasy. Black pill/white pill are extensions of the metaphor (whitepilled is shorthand for "hopeful) I think.

Evo is relating it to mate selection and whatnot because it's the literal basis around which he steered the last decade plus of his major life decisions, but it's used in other contexts than mating with pretty much identical high level context.

Correct, see again:

but on the internet in general this is where it's more frequently used. Does reddit have a bunch of subreddits about "blackpiling normies on the JQ?" even though we can use blackpill as a verb this way, the answer is "no."

My PhD was actually a pretty good decision. It took me 2.5 years, was low stress and not much work. I left academia immediately afterwards, and it definitely helped get gooe jerbs. Pure maths is a choice I would wholeheartedly recommend.

The (probably) richest person I know failed his PhD. He set up a company to prove his algorithm worked (he is a computer scientist.) His company was Eidos, and the rest is history. He now has an honorary doctorate, so I guess it was just a delay.

1. Yes. 2 of my exes basically were close to that in some way. 1 without even training, the other the powerlifter.
2. The video stated 23% go to the gym regularly and I misremembered 26%. Bear in mind most people who "go to the gym" do absolutely nothing productive, especially women in the gym. Big Gen Z/Gen Z/Late Millennial men basically end up being a huge share of that 26% overall. Gym just became a fixture of mainstream culture among these demographics.

...Eidos? like Deus ex Machina Eidos? jfc....

how old are you?

by GuyThatGoesToDaGym

Correct, see again:

I think you know we disagree on this topic. I know your answer to my somewhat reductive query about "if an awkward bald guy that looks like the aborted then reanimated fetus from the beautiful but unholy union of Slenderman and Gollum can find a desirable HIGH VALUE (ABP[SUP]TM[/SUP]) American woman not poisoned by fourth wave feminism, surely smart, funny, jacked Evo early could have" would be "tall, white, and raised upper middle class" and other such things. Then I'd counter that you're obviously 2+ sigma above the mean in intelligence, looks, and physicality, but then you'd say something about Mestizo genetics and how your being two inches taller would optimize involuntary labial wetness and on and on. Good times.

With that said, based on your n of 1, neckbearding about this seems pretty evolutionarily disadvantageous, even without taking into account the effect of increasing jizz age. Outside of the (I will admit) reasonably serious distortions wrought by modern culture and the Internet, I still do think some nontrivial portion of both men and women remain pretty practical and able to self sort themselves in the mating meat market. Yes, yes, I'm old and out of touch, Western decadence and the like. I look forward to reading 27000 words on the subject when I awake.

My last words on the topic (for now):

As Anton Chigurh says:

and "if you think you can or you think you can't, you're right."

I can't really comment on whether it is or isn't worth it in any context other than the natural sciences, but glad you hear math worked out for you!

i've always avoided these terms because they're associated with alt right cucks to me and incels

what would it make me if i think it's a like 1 part blue, 1 part black, & 3 parts red?

by Montecore

bolded: No, I think you're right, 0 disagreements. But now I question whether or not I even want that. My own situation is just so unusual and peculiar that it's not even worth examining within the broader question of "how do human mating preferences work?". Maybe that wasn't clear from my recent posts.

Even though I just wrote "most people want long term monogamous pair bonds" I'm a sufficiently unusual case to where it's very worth questioning if that's my individual best path, even if it's the best path for the median person or for the large majority of people, irrespective of their mate value.

Underlined: Is neckbearding about this beyond the level I already have "evolutionarily disadvantageous"? Yes. But I just find it so interesting because it was such a source of trauma and mystery for me as a youth so I can't stop thinking about it and trying to learn about it, even though I've gotten everything I can out of the topic in terms of application to my own life.

The impact of technological and, cultural changes I believe is much smaller than most commentators both based internet commentators and normie MSM ones, are saying. Fertile aged women are simply a smaller % of the population than they were when you or I were youths, and this trend is both self-reinforcing and accelerating. Changes in culture and technology have probably done relatively little compared to just demographic changes.

", I still do think some nontrivial portion of both men and women remain pretty practical and able to self sort themselves in the mating meat market."

ultimately yes, especially those in the middle. At the very top and very bottom we tend to have issues. (yes, I may have mistaken myself for being the latter instead of the former when I was younger)

As I've learned more about human mating dynamics, I actually think feminism is overall maybe a net good. Obviously there are some super toxic elements and fringes who are just psychotic and i don't believe the affirmative action parts or the parts about rape culture and patriarchy, but I do see abortion rights as a human right that governments shouldn't be able to legislate and that the path of the career woman isn't inherently bad and shouldn't be shamed or ridiculed. The extent to which it's damaged mating markets is way overblown.

These chats have been fun, bros. But we're probably only going to get about 2 more weeks of them. As contest prep starts my thoughts gets turbo-focused on executing the necessary tasks and there's this mindfulness and attentiveness to every mundane experience that doesn't leave a lot of room for thinking about things beyond myself and immediate surroundings.

I had no ***** time to make all these posts like this last year because I was busy teaching classes or grading papers all day. I guess the "character building" you oldheads were talking about came not from the remote and isolated environment lacking conveniences I'd grown accustomed to, but from the job environment with less hard (but very rewarding) teaching work. This has been the actual progress: Doing a job with a lot of work that you find fulfilling and important leads to a much more satisfying life than doing another higher paying job with way less overall work and the work you do doesn't feel very fulfilling or meaningful and learning this lesson first hand probably will guide me into better decisions in the future.

building character doesn't make you a better or even more interesting person

it just sets the bar for life so low that you're not so easily brought down anymore

This was a delightful discussion of the origins of incel terminology. Wikipedia actually has a fairly concise explanation that summarizes virtually all the various viewpoints shared:

To use a previous example on skin color and IQ:
Blue pill: My dark skin has no impact on my IQ.
Red pill: My dark skin is an obvious handicap on my IQ.
white pill: I can affect my IQ so nbd.
black pill: IQ is fixed, so I'm fked.

Yugo,

Kids are a weird thing for copium with normies. I think I met one woman who had a rational view of having kids which basically amounted to: "I love my kids, but I wouldn't do it knowing what I do now." This is likely pretty stratified among people, especially women, who find meaning and porpoise through other avenues rather than just growing crotch fruit. Then again I have friends who have accomplished pretty much everything else they wanted to do and are now having kids while in their 40s. But predominantly people who don't really have a lot going on and have children will have this rather halcyon view of child raising.

Monte,

Generally when quoting obscure laws or razors, I just explain what it means and let the other person feel smart when they know it. Half the time it is because I forget actual name, so maybe this is just cope.

Rick,

C'mon man. You should know that heavily kurtotic and skewed distributions have a median that is closer to 0 than the average. This shows up in scoring in sports all the time. (multiple OT games in football/basketball, baseball throwing out the 2B to do mopup work down 15 runs who gives up another 7 runs, etc)

Guy,

Is focusing on your porpoise normie/incelmaxing?

On the subject of work, I've never really been motivated by the external things like "fulfillment". But I also don't literally teach proto-people how to do things so they can become actual adults. That is probably quite fulfilling.

In a funny anecdote, West Russia doesn't have evolved sexual predator laws. Apparently one teacher (**** obv) sent a student a bunch of dick pics and lost his job. I struggle to rejoin this view with my general view that teachers want to help kids. My childhood pediatrician is now a registered sex offender after catching 3 sexual abuse felony charges (**** obv). So apparently trying to keep kids from dying and then rubbing your weenus on them aren't mutually exclusive. Atleast he had the decency to approach this kid outside of his job, so he's still a doctor.
