You seem to have irrational hatred for China. You've never been here and the Chinese you know aren't a good reflection because it's an extremely culturally and linguistically diverse place (much more so than the US) even if it isn't ethnically diverse. I really enjoy living here. I could maybe imagine living in Thailand if educator salaries went up a bit or if I did some career outside of education. I've taken a decade to adapt to Asian lifestyle, language, and culture. Packing up to a place I am genetically from but haven't been to in almost 2 decades where i know very little about the language and culture this late in my adult life would be very difficult (but admittedly character building as you boomers and gen xers like to say). Granted there are some caveats to this. In the US, interacting with people outside of extremely narrow age bands is super super weird. In other parts of the world this is super standard. I met a girl who was 17 at the same place the President of the country got cucked.
