I think we see the bright line demarcating between ELD's generation and Pman's generation in American family financial ideaology. The ELD generation and older, parents kicked their children out at 18 some even younger at 16 years old and left to fend for themselves. These people had to get grades in school and sports awards were only given for first place. In Pman's generation, schools only gave pass/fail report cards, parents have a lifelong financial responsibility for housing for their children, everyone who looses in sports gets a participation trophy.

I met Carl Icahn many years ago at his Mt. Kisco house. At the time he owned TWA, which was tanking in value and needed a deal related to his control group liability for pension funding .
Why he is shedding cash at a 23% rate, who knows ? However, if anyone is thinking of climbing on a dividend gravy boat, they better look at what's driving this cash flood.

Not that there's anything wrong with that but no one that has invested their money would think 4% interest on $100,000 would give you $4,000 a month.

I can at least understand calling it Bally's out of habit. The name changed 2 years ago and it's mostly been Bally's since he went there. There's no way he even remembers being in a Price Club.

I’d love to know why he clings to those old brand names and refuses to change. Is it because he thinks it makes him seem cool or hip? Is it just to be a smart a.. and troll everyone?
Costco used to have a battery loophole to get a new battery every three years and the warranty would restart each time a battery was exchanged receipt but they just closed this battery loophole in early 2024. When I exchanged my battery one last time I thought that ELD would be proud of the battery hack.
