Are people that send money to IDF supporting terrorism/ genocide?

Yes they are though as tax payers they don’t have much choice.

by metsandfinsfan

So what then

by jalfrezi

what about those that openly donate their own money independent of any taxes/forced donations

by Bluegrassplayer

Yes if Hezbollah stops firing rockets at Israel then Israel should not attack Hezbollah

Hm after they shoot rockets, stopping isn't enough.

Israel has a right to guarantee they can't shoot ever again.

If your neighbor tries to snipe your daughter in the park with a sniper rifle, and fails to kill her, him stopping isn't enough to say "well ok why are you so angry , he stopped".

Until your neighbor and anyone who agrees with him, helped him and so on, is fully neutralized, you have a complete moral right to do absolutely everything to achieve his neutralization, if the police doesn't act on it.

logically, lebanon and palestine can attack israel because israel isnt fully neutralized and israel has been sniping daughters in parks with sniper rifles (literally thousands of times)

is that the point you were trying to make? I could see it

lebanaon, egypt syria and iran all have the right to guarantee israel cant shoot ever again, correct?

Do people donate to national armies? I suppose some do, the most deplorable ones.

Your analogy fails because the neighbour doesn't have a right to guarantee they can't shoot ever again

A moral one, he has, at least for me, being a moral consideration, it's a subjective take.

For me the Death Wish and Gran Torino moral system is the correct one

Well like that's just your opinion man.

And it isn't how the actual world that we are debating works because there are these things called governments and laws. And I can't think of a country that allows its citizens to pursue their own justice, can you?

International law in the Israel v Hezbollah situation is fairly clear, Israel is 100% right and Hezbollah 100% wrong and it's not even controversial is it?

So I thought we were talking subjective moral opinions not the law.

International law says the occupation of the West Bank was illegal, so being a consistently moral person you must support Palestinian rights to launch attacks to guarantee their land can't ever be occupied again.

Welcome to the Palestinian cause. I hoped you'd come over eventually. 👍

Thankfully most agree that it doesn't make a ton of sense that one fighting starts both sides go until the other is annihilated, even at the significant cost to the other side.

Ceasefires are completely valid.

Most of us do because most of us are not nihilists.

Israel basically had a ceasefire with Hezbollah

Israel did nothing to Lebanon to spark rockets

Hezbollah has attacked Israel
Israel needs to let Hezbollah know that they need to mind their business or they are starting a war

I am not in favor of a full blown war with Hezbollah. But isreal is completely within us m its rights

Israel is fighting back now. It's a good thing for Israel to not have to deal with an all out war. Hezbollah stopping and Israel not engaging in a costly war that they can't achieve their goals in anyways is a win for everyone.

Israel is not fighting back. They are symbolically showing they can fight back. But Intel says they are ready to fight back

Israel has killed something like 40x more militants than IDF soldiers have been killed. They are both fighting each other equally.

Israel would be incredibly dumb to invade Lebanon if hezbollah stops.

What about the non-militants?

I don't think it would be smart
But I do think it is justified

wgaf about the US when

Two thirds of the area was occupied by Israel following the 1967 Six-Day War and then effectively annexed in 1981, the latter being rejected by the international community which continues to consider the territory as Syrian and under Israeli occupation.

by jalfrezi

What about the non-militants?

100 or so.

golan heights or so?

Israel has been killing innocents for throwing rocks, or for nothing at all, from 2006 to 2024. thousands of people have been killed this way. maybe lebanon feels angry about that

gideon levy would get banned itt lol

Those kids who were shot and killed for throwing rocks at distance at soldiers aren't kids. No, they're actually child soldiers.
