i get sent vlogs where im mentioned so thats how i see this stuff. ive known trooper for a long time and he deserves a lot of credit for basically inventing the poker vlog genre, i find the big beard guys shows entertaining as well but im surprised poker players would watch such a depressing story, its sort of like leaving las vegas but id much rather drink myself to death than be a dealer.

I agreed with probably 90 percent of what you said in that video and you were right there- guys who flop around around in baby stakes poker need a boss and a kick in the ass.
I get the naive kid who runs hot for a few months to start and thinks poker will be easy for everyone but at some point these guys needs to live in reality.
Professional Poker Player Pman is taking the day off during the biggest tourney series of the year with multiple tourney series running around town two days in. Such a strong work ethic.

Yes. All the time.
Diesel is a winning player, hes like a 2bb an hour winner at 1-2 over like 5 full time years or something. He claims to be a super grinder but does what id call an average amount of grinding, but compared to his loser friends who play 200 hours of 1-2 before going back to work at pizza hut or whatever, he plays alot. Now he has realized he will never make it in poker and has become a dealer.
Trooper has made many outlandish claims, like he should be a 5-10 reg, he once claimed to have an ROI in 180 man tournaments that wouldve made him ~the best tournament player in the world, and often makes claims especially when trying to sell action for tournaments at absurd markups, that imply hes a professional player, especially to a less advanced audience, which is his audience. His audience is the blue collar, watched poker in early 2000s but doesnt really keep up with anything, 1-2 occasional player. So to someone who is a more serious player, its obvious he is not very good at poker, but the people hes grifting from, are less sophisticated people, very much like a lower version of vegas dave or something for sports betting. Its a nuanced situation, its not something clear cut

He used to give win rates when he was around 13-14 bucks an hour for a few years but stopped a long time ago.
He brags about his microscopic swings, had a total meltdown over losing 200 dollars with pocket aces last year and claims the only reason he doesn't play higher than 1/3 is bc it's not fun.
He claims he will retire off of poker and be something like the third person to be able to do so in poker history.
He's basically what you described except not as good of a player.
Agreed nothing wrong with dealing at all . It's where many 1/2 "pros" end up- some just take way too long to realize that's the side of the box they belong on.
300k isn't life changing money. It's a nice nest egg depending on your current financial situation.
Let's say trooper wins 300k after taxes.
He could spend the 300k on buying a house but he doesn't have consistent income so that's not smart.
It’s not smart but it wouldn’t stop a lot of people from doing it. He would have a better place to live, and a loving, loyal wife/gf to move in with.
He could say he bought a nice house, has a loyal woman that loves him, has a nice tournament score to prove the haters wrong who said he sucks at poker, and lady trooper would be so proud of him.
She would brag about him to her family and friends about how he is so good at poker and is a pro that won $300k.
^And the haters would keep on hating behind the safety of their anonymity.
