I mean what are we doing here? This is obviously not acceptable behavior, especially since stadium seating isn’t exactly the safest.
We are spending our day fighting over what the punishment should be and are assigning ideological generalizations over some dude slapping another dude in the back of the head at a ball game.

So you saw one completely unverified post from possibly one company and extrapolated that to: "Companies are getting really tired of the pronouns nonsense"
Not only is this an example of ONE (singular) company, it could literally be anyone saying that. Are you aware of the propensity of people to just make **** up to support their agendas because people like you will gleefully exaggerate it and spread it as the gospel truth?
If not you should be, because you are being used.

The theory is that the sort of people who feel the need to list their preferred pronouns are also the sort of people more likely to cause trouble for HR.

Was it ever that prominent in real life? I live in a blue state and ive never been asked or told to use a specific pronoun. Although, I do often ignore people at times so its possible, I guess.

It's an option on Slack, that's where I see it. I live in Ohio. We are the exact color of a deep thigh contusion at this point. But it's a global company.

Before I retired I was part of a small group that interviewed and helped management decide on programmer new hires. We hired one such person that lozen assumes would be a trouble employee. She was anything but. Great programmer and really fit in with the group.
I'd rather hire that person than a confirmed bigot any day.

That’s a different question than when the peak was. Also it depends on the circles you run in. If you were in very progressive circles like I was, then yes it was fairly common for the expectation to be to state your name and pronouns. In business not so much, but providing pronouns in your signature was starting to gain popularity and then wane.
I think progressives moved on from it because many binary trans people felt singled out being asked for their pronouns. Of course for nonbinary people they always have to include it because it’s no one’s natural inclination to use they/them pronouns on someone proactively.
