10K CHALLENGE PLAYING ONLY MYSTERY BATTLE ROYALE ON GGPOKER

10K CHALLENGE PLAYING ONLY MYSTERY BATTLE ROYALE ON GGPOKER

Hi!

I'm Tipsy, and over the past few months I've been diving deep into Mystery Battle Royales on GGPoker.

I started this $10,000 profit challenge about a month ago, and so far I'm up roughly $2,000 playing $3 Mystery Battle Royales exclusively.

I'm making this thread to document the journey, share results, discuss strategy, and hopefully show that Mystery Battle Royales are a legitimate format for players willing to put in the study. I also want to bring a bit more attention to the format because I genuinely think it's one of the most enjoyable games online right now.

Why Mystery Battle Royales?

The biggest reasons are flexibility and depth.

Unlike traditional MTTs, you don't have to commit to 8-10 hour sessions with only a couple of short breaks. You can start and stop whenever you want, making it much easier to balance poker with the rest of your life. That's something I value a lot, and it's one of the main reasons I decided to focus on this format.

The games are also surprisingly deep strategically. Since I started studying them seriously, I've realized just how many unique situations come up, especially in the final stage. There isn't much high-quality strategy material available yet, so there's still a lot to figure out. The format feels far from solved, which makes studying both fun and rewarding.

Study

I currently spend around 10 hours a week studying.

My main tools are:

Royale Tracker for results and EV tracking
H2N for database reviews
Holdem Resources Calculator (HRC) for final-stage simulations
Preflop trainers for Rush spots

Current volume

I usually play 8-12 tables, averaging around 28-40 games per hour.

When I'm focusing heavily on improving, I'll stick to 8 tables so I have more time to think through difficult spots instead of autopiloting.

Current stats (~1 month)

Profit: ~$1,900
Games played: 4,374
Volume: ~34.5 games/hour

I've run quite a bit above EV recently, although before that I spent around 2,000 tournaments running below EV. That's pretty standard for this format—the variance is brutal.

My goal isn't to pretend this format prints money. The swings are massive, and I'm sure there will be some ugly stretches along the way. The purpose of this thread is to document both the good runs and the bad ones as I work towards the $10k goal.

For anyone interested in trying these games, I'd recommend at least 300-400 buy-ins, with 500+ being even more comfortable.

The current plan is to move up to the $10s once I reach around $4k profit.

I also stream on Twitch and Youtube. I'm not sure what's allowed regarding self-promotion here, so I'll leave it at that for now. If it's allowed, you can find me as TipsyPoker.

I'll aim to update this thread roughly once a week with results, interesting hands, study notes, and anything else I learn along the way.

If anyone else here is grinding Mystery Battle Royales, I'd love to hear about your experience—especially at the higher stakes.

You're making good progress-good luck! There's never been a marathon like this before. I think you'll reach the goal without any problems.

Thanks bro. Probably not happening in 3 months but the move to $10 should bring in about $25 an hour. If I keep volume up, I'm there. I'll add that I study about 10-12 hours a week on top of my playing time.
