GG on the bracelet.
Past:
I did quite a few things wrong on my journey.
I worked too hard.
I pushed too hard.
I didn't rest.
I played everyday.
Alot of this was due to my back pain hindering my life. But that has been negated through consistent gym. [Core + back + glute training] has practically made back pain a non-issue.
Current
More rest.
More time away from cards.
More cardio.
More traveling.
More reading.
More yoga.
More Life!
Plans for future:
Go to a silent retreat
Post 1x/month some activity or thing I'm doing on this thread with each monthly update.
Buy a house and a duplex [I'd like to parlay some of my income into rental properties]
Move to a warmer climate or bigger city by age 32 [I'm 30 now]
Run 2 miles in 11 minutes.
Volunteer time to foodbank.
Play 4000 tournaments [3000 tracked] in 15 day period~ Romeopro is doing something similiar and intrigued me. the goal would be 50k made pre rakeback in 15 days.End of year goal for fun.

I possess no unique traits. I possess no unique intelligence. I am just some nerd with grit. The journey is the goal. Thank you for reading.

-300k in just 200 high stakes MTT is so brutal, you think that's just variance or you still need to get better to be a winning player at those stakes? good luck reach for the stars man
Asmyetric payoffs: Some actions have small downside but massive upside.
Powerlaw Distribution: One player reaps all the rewards. One business makes all the money. Poker is the same the top rises. Consistency of volume alone is not enough. I need to be consistent with my study habits.
I pursued income in poker but once you achieve a certain networth you realize the money wont fullfill you. Mastery is the purpose of all actions.
My New study habits: Required before next session.

Vegas dump:

Life dump: kid cudi concert + wedding villa + don toliver concert

Plans for future:
Go to a silent retreat
Read more. [2/10 books read this year]
Buy a house [most likely complete by mid 2027]
Run 2 miles in 11 minutes. [Starting running 7/22/2026 current pace is 16 min 2 mile 7:30 1 mile]
Volunteer time to foodbank. [Have not begun this yet.]
Take artistic and skill classes. [cooking, pottery, martial arts of some sort]
Go on more life/poker trips.
You can sum up my goals as mastery and lifemaxing. I hope that this story ends the way the readers want. But all i can do is the work.

Subbed, what a journey my friend!
Congrats [emoji122], I just read the whole thread this sleepless morning. Quite inspiring
Appears like you have tried reading more throughout the years without success.
Something that worked for me was picking up a bunch of books, start reading them and ditching them quickly if my mind is not interested. Public libraries are the go to for this strategy.
This method has helped me read a lot more books than before.
Basically your brain gives up before you are even aware when you force it to stick to finishing a single book.
Anyways, I recommend diving into the fiction section. Writers from the first half of the 20th century, right before tv. The list is endless but lmk if you need recommendations
On the poker side I have little advice for you since you are decades ahead of me.
So godspeed [emoji120]
