Dinosaur makes the most sense, but wouldn't you just clue trex for that? Unless he was worried about tooth, but they are known as the king of the dinosaurs.
That also makes pistol the last astronautic word I guess? I can't say I understand that.
Can’t clue T-Rex because no hyphens and Rex is Latin for king. And yeah, I think tooth very much gets in the way. I’m good with dinosaur.

I had dinosaur on my maybe list because of the asteroid extinction event. Definitely thin, but maybe?
I guess I could buy pistol for astronautics since I think the idea of getting things into orbit was firing a projectile on a trajectory where it would constantly miss the ground, thus encircling the earth. The science of putting people in space had to have referenced firearm technology during development.

Can't clue T-Rex, but you can clue Rex. Literal translations are not illegal in codenames as long as they are either in the dictionary or proper nouns. Even Tyrannosaurus gets it. Or Godzilla. Tooth is a very distant third and not even worth worrying about when there are much better clues for that combo.
That said, I don't have a good alternative to replace it with. It all just feels kinda weird to me and makes me worry that we're missing something.

I suppose you can't clue tyrannosaurus because of the -saur part. But rex is the better clue anyway.

I didn't know that. I just figured clueing a non-English word that's a direct translation for a word on the board wouldn't be permitted. But you're right, it's not written in the rules.

I was suggesting Pie since it can come in different sizes, like you could get a small pie, medium pie, large pie etc
