Five years is massive. Full stop.

That isn't just a milestone on a calendar; it’s an entire epoch of rebuilding, day after grinding day, when the noise in your head or the weight of the floor was actively trying to convince you otherwise. The psychiatric system loves its discharge papers and follow-up charts, but it doesn't see the silent, unrecorded victories—the mornings you stayed when you wanted to bolt, the quiet recalibrations, the sheer grit it took to get back to a baseline where you can even joke about being "mostly" fixed.

The system isn't going to throw a parade or write a watershed paper for you, because it's built to measure pathology, not resilience. But you’re the one who had to live through the architecture of that recovery.

Five years of your life, reclaimed. Take that in.

(I would never place 'epoch' after 'entire'.....alliteration with vowels is not a good thing.)

I've read the book, which technically was written by Richard Bachman -- King's pseudonym. The handful of Stephen King movies I've seen were also good (Storm of the Century, "IT", and The Shining come to mind). I will probably give this movie a chance.

I had a slight preference for Bachman versus King growing up. Maybe it was the simple "what if?" plotlines....maybe it was the bigger font and less words per page, I'm not sure. Bachman had a voice of his own, that of a stoic older person who carefully let his stories wind down. Juxtaposed with King who was an absolute lunatic - both in terms of using a precise amount of excessive detail, and going places that a regular person would know better of.

For everything I ever said

Well I know -- The distance to The Sun.

Could we technically be even further away from other celestial bodies due to time warping in certain parts of space?

Yes, absolutely. You’ve hit on a mind-bending truth of general relativity: space and time are package deals. You cannot warp one without warping the other.
Because gravity warps the actual geometry of spacetime, we can indeed be physically "further away" from certain celestial bodies than flat-space geometry would suggest.
Here is how this cosmic stretching works.
The "Stretched Fabric" of Distance
We often hear about gravity slowing down time (gravitational time dilation), but it also stretches physical space.
If you want to measure the distance between two points in flat, empty space, a straight line is the shortest path. But if you drop a massive object (like a star or a black hole) between those two points, it dents the fabric of space.
Coordinate Distance: This is the distance "as the crow flies" on a flat map.
Proper Distance: This is the actual physical distance you would measure if you laid down a giant tape measure through that warped space.
Because of the "dent" created by the mass, the tape measure has to dip down into the gravity well and climb back out. The physical path is literally longer. If you were to travel through that region of warped space, you would have to traverse more physical distance than if the massive object weren't there at all.
Real-World Proof: The Shapiro Time Delay
This isn't just theoretical; we have measured it. In the late 1960s, astrophysicist Irwin Shapiro realized that if we bounced radar signals off Venus or Mars when the Sun was sitting almost directly between Earth and those planets, the signals should take longer to return.
Sure enough, they did. While some of the delay is because the path of the light is bent, a massive chunk of the delay happens because the space near the Sun is physically stretched. The light literally had to travel a longer distance through the warped gravity well of the Sun to get to the other side.
The Extreme Case: Black Holes
If you look at an extreme gravitational well like a black hole, this effect goes into overdrive:
From the outside, a black hole might look like it has a modest radius of only a few miles.
However, because the warping of space is so severe, the physical "distance" from the event horizon to the singularity at the center is infinitely stretched.
In a very real, physical sense, the inside of a black hole is "bigger" on the inside than it looks from the outside.
So, if you are looking at a star that lies directly behind a massive cluster of galaxies, you are technically further away from it than a simple straight-line calculation would suggest. The universe's gravity wells are constantly stretching the road trips of the cosmos.
Does this kind of spatial warping make you wonder how we manage to calculate accurate cosmic distances at all, or were you thinking of a specific cosmic shortcut like wormholes?

Space is ****ing terrifying.

On Earth I will remain.

Feeling: Peaceful, a notch empty

I find food every once in a while. But not enough to purchase a smile. A tank of gas is a treasure to me, I know now that nothing is free. I talk to you every now and then. I've never felt so alone again.

Self-actualizing is a lot easier when fully rested.

I think about doing something, and then I do it without much resistance. Normally I have several internal arguments and really have to convince myself to do something.

3 Nights in a row now with excellent sleep.

Nights into Dreams.

I'm going to smoke some pot.

I'm going to enter an ethereal state of happenstance and blooming.

And then. Only then will I take the next step forward and forge a path through the village.

Just had some Minestrone soup. Sh-- is like a power up.

Mclovin has permissed people to cuss like sailors in SE, Politics is pretty much unmodded now, and we are getting close to hardcore stuff in BBV.

I love the new Hamsterdam 2p2. It's like the Wild West.

I haven't played RDR2 in a few days. I've wanted to play, I know empirically that it is a good time, but it's like I have to clear a mentally imposed hurdle in order to begin playing.

It's like that for most video games. Eventually the hurdle starts getting bigger, usually as I progress through the game, ultimately leading to me putting the game down for good.

I, like most humans perhaps, suffer from Choice Paralysis like a mother ****er.

Back on the Grizzy.

Sleeping well begets grinding.

I was thinking about doing something big for TOTP 4k post.

Decided to just let it fly.

I can do anything on a good night's sleep.
