They are so thin and soft. Zero effort to break them apart. Not messy either.

My son was eating rice cakes last night. Big mess. I'd put those as crunchier due to the mess, even though they aren't really as crunchy but need some differentiating factors on the scale.

Would you agree that on a crunchy scale of just chips this is like a 3? There's not many less crunchy chips than this. Doritos, tortilla chips, party mix, pretzel chips, ripple chips.....all crunchier.

Then I have nuts as crunchier. Almonds, walnuts, etc. Maybe you don't.

I think with this scale the effort needed to crunch something is what makes it higher on the scale. Otherwise 12-21 seems pretty hard to clue for.

Ya not sure why bbq vs some other lays. My guess is because the image of the bag shows a sauce which is -crunchy.

but generally hardness is not crunchiness. almonds are way harder than chips, but not as crunchy. walnuts are kinda chewy compared to the instant pure crunchiness of a lays potato chip

crunchy is when bite down and it kind of shatters.

but yeah maybe you're right about lays being so thin and fragile, that a Doritos chip might be more crunchy cuz there is a little more durability
