how deeb plays will be interesting from an ICM perspective. he's the most experienced guy & someone who claims (& is quite convincing) that he isn't feeling the pressure/doesn't care that much/has more money.So if anyone was gonna gamble it up purposefully it might be him. that shove with 2nd pair & a gutty seems to suggest that but he was lowest in chips & 10bb ish when that
if deeb doesn't FT he'll be complaining he lost POY points because of all the events he missed.
I've never found him funny or entertaining, I really don't get it either.
I think the announcers suffer from being on too much, maria ho referring to icm and equity, just say don't want to let opponent hit his cards instead of deny equity and instead of ICM doesn't want to get knocked out. Maybe it's just the way she says it but it annoys me. The way ali phrases things is like can you speak like a normal person. I get trying to say different things cause it's repetitive but it doesn't flow. Stapleton has his catchphrase which he needed to be told to stop doing that the first time and every time afterwards and his shtick really gets old quick. At least they're allowed to be who they are.
I remember when they had lon/norm for live and lon kept messing up the board and action so we all realized that was a bad idea. Him and norm are good in their role now as the side thing.
That said, it's hard doing that many hours live as a commentator, gotta keep talking with a lot of not exciting action. It's more live hours than any sport at one time. I don't know how many people in the poker world who can do that cause we're all non talking hoodie wearers so anyone that can kudos to you because I can't.
If Deeb makes the final table, I wonder if they’ll tell him to chill on the constant persnickety rule talk at the table.
Wouldnt be the best look to present constant bitching about the WSOP or whatever to brand new ESPN viewers

Board is paired and he got cold re-raised on the river. When is that ever a bluff in your local casino (hint never). It's a great play, I think it's a call if he has time to think about it but he also has a big stack and wants to preserve it. It's a great play by traynor. Sometimes you tip the cap.
I never had feelings towards deeb either way, but come on man, even if this is just another tournament to him, which I don't fully believe, lie a little, give an aww shucks would have really liked to add this one to the resume for the camera. It's every poker players dream. What a douche move/interview.
savas plays exactly like his hendonmob suggests, a guy who plays tons of small stakes stuff and is used to people folding whenever they check so he takes small stabs like that. or floats and just small stabs expecting fires or give ups entirely. Somehow that's worked to get him here.
edit--and then ICM punted which is why I said he was a wildcard, nobody else in this tournament does that with tens with that stack.

He can probably fold his way to an extra $500k, that is my only guess because that is the first time ive ever seen KQ suited folded from the cutoff with no bet in front of you.
Re the 1010 shove.
Perhaps inadvertently it’s not a bad play - I mean…I think I would fold JJ there with 35bb - even if 6bb already invested?

The way Jumalon had been playing all day i thought he'd at least think on it a bit longer and make a call. All the players checked to the river before the betting started. I guess he thought he was trapped the whole time.

it's not an easy call with JJ, especially vs small stakes guy but if anyone left was gonna punt himself out like that it was savas. I'd be like wtf is this AA right too.
