Plus, having AK discounts AA/KK for the button as does the fact that button shoves, if button has KK or especially AA, they are more likely to flat the 4 mill

Perhaps the most dangerously seductive line of thinking in the history of poker.

Don’t forget there was a raise to 2,25 BB UTG with 26 BB behind.

did savas just raise/call 98s? I guess he did, brilliant move cause it won

Cant tell from when they cut to the action but looks like it. Gambling is taking place.

If anyone is going to gamble it's savas though, he's a much worse player than wilson is. I wouldn't have but from his perspective, why not. It's probably 40%.

He announced “flush” about 30 seconds after the river came in. I’m cheering for him the rest of the way

To use Nick’s quote from the other day…Savas is way down the list of people I’d want to lose an All In to

Also I love hearing the French guys say ‘whoa’ when there’s a bad flop. Accent and intonation is perfect

The pulled hoodie over mouth to avoid giving tells thing is pretty unique to this event. You always see it deep in the WSOP main but not in anything else. Not even EPT's etc (granted its been several years since I watched a live EPT stream).

When did you last play poker , 2005 ?

I didn’t see the hand but it’s only 40% after you see the cards

by wheatrich

certainly was 1.125

Thank you! Then this was wrong unless it was covering multiple hands.

Overpair isn't as likely in reshove hand range. It's going to be a lot of what he had K high card/A something/etc. edit--so 36%ish overall? gambling

I think QQ has to fold. what a spot

Really savage spot, I think you have to call tbh but its not nice. He made a great fold.

I do also hate 4 bet folding a hand as strong as QQ. If your going to do that then just call the 3 bet and keep their range wider.

Lol savas, clicking buttons.

Ensan with a real shot to win again. Playing patiently, not taking unnecessary risks, playing small ball, quietly collecting the occasional pot.

I remember that year, I gave up and went to bed, and when I turned on the TV in the morning they were still playing.

Oh yeah, I did that too. I also forgot about the ridiculous unrounded payouts of that era. An alltime “if Jack were still in charge” moment. “Guys, you know we can just give these finishers an extra $575 each and so on, to make $8.5M a lot easier fir ESPN to report…”

EDIT: IIRC they might’ve been hoping the players tipped the odd amounts. Merson: Hey sure yeah no problem man, $31853, fine, it’s cool bro, what’s the difference, i like round numbers anyway man, makes it easier to keep track of, you know what i mean

It's definitely a sick spot, you're still 6th if you fold, if you lose you're out, maybe you're flipping. Maybe you suck out and win the tournament. I mean if he flipped up his cards and it was AK it's like wtf do you do with this $ on the line.

Does every single sentence Stapes says have to be a pun or something purposely lame/dad joke-y?
It's exhausting

Honestly david williams more annoying to me because he keeps guessing what they’re going to do

The pay jumps are so steep at this particular stage.

11th pays $750k and 14th pays $410k.

The pressure on the smaller stacks is intense.

You can feel somebody getting ready to try to give him their whole stack as a 7-1 dog and getting there on the river.

Exhausting is right. I don't understand how he continues to get work.

Didn’t see the spot but there’s probably some chance his 8 or 9 are dominated. Also idk what you’re talking about overpairs and reshove range it was btn vs bb for 10bb. He’s certainly shoving some good overpairs and possible hands that dominate 89. Edited after looking at the hand

15 lost a pot and is short now, but 8-14 all have awkward size stacks that really don't want to be allin before the others but also gonna blind down quick if they just fold as it's 8 and 7 handed.

savas is 7th now but is a wildcard.

how deeb plays will be interesting from an ICM perspective. he's the most experienced guy & someone who claims (& is quite convincing) that he isn't feeling the pressure/doesn't care that much/has more money.

So if anyone was gonna gamble it up purposefully it might be him. that shove with 2nd pair & a gutty seems to suggest that but he was lowest in chips & 10bb ish when that happened so different ICM situation to now as like 13/15 or whatever he is

Just got home and went to watch stream it says event ended??? are they done streaming for the day? it is like impossible to watch this thing
