You should have been around when metagame was first discovered as something to think about and was referred to as "Shania." That led to a lot of confused newer posters when someone would respond "X is standard, but you should do Y occasionally to please Shania."
Sadly, the original rant about pleasing Shania is lost to the forum updates, as far as I can tell. All the links to the OP I found are broken now.

Yeah. Agree with all that, vis-a-vis the -EV now to set up +EV later, at the risk of spewing now because people who frequently play that way are rarely good enough to do it well.
I gave some examples of hands I played that were pure street. In every instance, I had a lot of confidence in my reads, combined with an unhealthy yet thankfully temporary ambivalence about the value of money and impact on my bankroll.
I don't think I'm an adrenaline addict. More like I trend a$$hole and don't mind if one or more opponents openly seethes at my relentless shenanigans, so long as I'm entertaining myself, if not a few others, as is very often the case.
It truly is astonishing I don't have more friends.
It's when the tight player at the table 3-bets you after you've been running over the table.
You realize he knows you're playing too many hands, and he seems to be a little nervous, so it's likely to be a light 3-bet. Plus he's scared to stack off even with some genuinely strong hands.
So you 4-bet him with air.
That's street poker.
