Improving Short handed

Improving Short handed

I feel like I need to improve my short handed game. It seems like I build a big stack 8 or 9 handed. 7 is borderline. For the most part 5 or 6 handed my stack seems to dwindle overall. Any tips, books, ect? Playing 6 max for practice?

What I did about 15 years ago was join WPT.com. Maybe its WPTGold now. It was $25 a month and I played from home (I worked from home). I made final tables enough that I learned how to play short handed.

One tournament I got HU at the final table and first place was $25. Second place was $20. After about 45 minutes I texted the other player and asked him if he thought that going at this for another 45 minutes was going to be worth $5. And he said its not about the money. Lol. Boy was he right...

I did it for about a year and I made it to a bunch of final tables. I didn't make money overall and I didn't lose money overall but what I did gain was insight as to how to play differently at final tables than at full tables.

Best of luck to you in whatever your decision about what to do moving forward.
