Day 44
Wednesday July 8th

It’s becoming a bit of a chore to update this when nothing good is happening.

Cash game day yesterday. Played a 3 hour session late morning / early afternoon and booked a -$1,000 loss when I racked up as had to go and meet someone.

Went back in the evening and played another session and had a lot of cooler spots where I had really good hands but villain always made better. -$3,000 in 5 hours.

Believe me, I understand how hard it is to update the thread wen there’s nothing but bad news.

Really appreciate the dedication, even if things aren’t going well.

This thread is a monument to ALL our dreams, getting to play poker all summer long!

Great on you for the effort you put in.

Yep, what TJ wrote. Best wishes going forward, it's going to turn your way.

Wish I could be rubbing elbows in the 80 mix right now, instead of wiping asses that aren’t mine at work!

Day 45
Thursday July 9th
Live Updates

So I bought a new phone but can’t get telegram activated on it until I get back home. (Need to get an eSIM for my Colombian number) Telegram is normally where I provide live tournament updates for my investors, so as I’m not able to do that will post them here instead. It will also change things up a bit and who knows maybe it will bring some run good?

Currently watching first half of France game in PH sportsbook while eating Chick-Fil-A

Today’s tournament is Pick Your PLO. The choices are:

4 Card PLO (single or double board)
5 Card PLO (single or double board)
PLO 8
Big O

I’m thinking will be mostly PLO or NLH players so picking a high/low variant could be the way to go but will evaluate based on my opponents.

Planning to enter at the start.

To my way of thinking, the PLO8 will have the softest field. Only say that because it's what I would play if these were my options.

Someone out there is jealous of you.

Honestly I would play the one you enjoy the most/your brain is telling you to play.

Good luck

Morocco are basically ambition less in this game - feels like they’ve been playing for penalties from the first minute

Yes, good luck. Living the dream, even if the runouts have been nightmarish at times.

I have been toiling at work for the past three weeks since returning from Vegas, overcome with FOMO. Watching the Main coverage only makes it worse. I have a three day weekend starting right now and could conceivably catch the last vapors of this WSOP, but rooms/flights started high and only went higher. I blame NBA Summer League.

I will live vicariously through the 2P2ers still in Vegas. Hoping for a Tony slam dunk in this PLO and/or the TORSE. Allegedly when Adam Friedman won the three straight $10k Dealer's Choice, part of his secret was being good at recognizing the games other people play poorly, and calling those games. I tend to agree with others that Big O and PLO8 might be a good default choice. 5 card PLO also seems like a game a lot of the casual entrants might make big mistakes in.

Middle for diddle!

Been a while since I hit one of these.

Under 2.5 pre-match
Over 1.5 at half-time

2-0 Final

Weighed-in!

I think that Tarbet guy is the favorite at that table. I hear good things about him.

I chose Big O when it was my turn but we’re on back-to-back 5-card double board rounds at the moment.

Played two all-in on the flop pots in consecutive hands. Ended up chopping both.

Maximum stress, minimum profit!

44k on 1st break, going back to 200-400 (400)

39k on 2nd break, going back to 400 - 800 (800)

Half the table calling 5-card double board which is why I dislike dealers choice formats. You end up playing the same game over and over rather than all the games in the mix.

The problem with 5-card double board is it’s the slowest game in the mix and it’s very difficult to scoop pots so it’s hard to increase your stack.

I picked PLO on my choice and bluffed a pot for about a 5k pickup. Pretty card dead in that session.

Bust. All-in on flop with a set and straight draw on tip and a flush draw on bottom. There’s an Ace on both boards but I still run into villain with two aces in his hand. Even then we still had a lot of outs to win either or both boards but of course we don’t hit. GG not firing again.

Unlucky mate.

But I'd also echo previous posts thanking you for continuing to update the thread. I known from experience it can feel a chore so kudos to you.

Let's TORSE the **** out of these mother****ers today!
