The old model was that Republicans and Democrats were basically identical but I feel like they want to move us to increased polarization and that the election of Trump and everything that he's done is the first step there. There is no such as a labor movement in the US any more. We have had a $7.25 minimum wage which hasn't increased for 17 years.

Now Democrats have joined Republicans as supporters of big business and low taxes. They are much more similar today on economic policy. They differ on identity politics.
