kind of re-stating what was already said, but seeing more confirmation that a month before filming started season 2 got cut from 10 episodes to 8, and they were already 3 months into the writer's strike, so yeah ... they literally just chopped off the last 2 eps. they couldn't do anything else with ~no writers, and didn't really have the time anyway. insane i would expect so. l

I read that S3 will be "total war"

Author George R.R. Martin in blog posts last week and this week continues to criticize creative choices made on the show. I will continue watching, but this next season needs to save this hot mess from itself.

After the wait for the 2nd season on the whole pretty disappointing season.

If it is true that the number of episodes was cut from 10 to 8 just before starting to shoot it because of the writers' strike then the start of the next season should be the finale episodes that this season needed or else the show is going to suffer from an incredible amount of filler before the big dragon showdown.

Finally got around to catching up on this. After the incredible Aemond-Aegon-Rhaenys battle, I was all in. Then nothing really happened for the rest of the season. Big letdown but I'll be there for S3.

Season 3 trailer looks good. And it starts with battles that were suppose to be at the end of writer's strike shortened disappointing Season 2.

yeah, i'm in

the final(?) preview thing for s3:

s3e1 - June 21
s3e2 - June 28
s3e3 - July 5
s3e4 - July 12
s3e5 - July 19
s3e6 - July 26
s3e7 - August 2
s3e8 - August 9

looks kool. guessing ep3 will be a banger because july 4th weekend

s3e1 - June 21

soon

got s7 all over again; awful writing but a lot of kablooey

the only remaining hopium is if ep3 is good, as the first 2 eps are actually s2 9&10. but if the new new stuff isn't good it's officially joever. not holding my breath

Yeah that episode kind of turned me off already and I was very excited it was back.

Battles I feel like we should know the immediate result of otherwise what was the point of showing it.

Hardhome, Battle of the Bastards, the Wall battle, we knew how they ended.

So ok those characters lived so they won? But the kid died in it so maybe not?

No idea what the outcome is nonetheless.

was really hoping they'd leave guy falling into the water in full-plate armor and surviving ****ing somehow in got s7 where it belonged, instead of doing it several times in one episode

yeah, death fake-outs are the nut low

Improvement over the last episode.

Midway through I was thinking "we haven't had a got style brutal death in a bit".

And the show delivered!

wild ep, but this might be the most misogynistic show oat tbh. my gods rhaenyra is so pathetic. got her below show sansa now smdh

Not everyone is as bloodthirsty and down to chop off a head in a moment's notice like you are apparently.

i wasn't just talking about that one scene, but

(kingsguard who was forced into a lose-lose situation by her idiot son)
rhaenyra: kill urself, byeeeee !!
(traitor who she probably hates more than literally anyone, including her half-brother, and is as responsible as anyone for the entire conflict)
rhaenyra: *crying uncontrollably, rubbing snot all over her face like a mcpoyle, can't lift a sword, etc*

I just assume she's going to have some type of big character arc. It took Dany 8 seasons to become the Mad Queen.

She lost her baby bastard boy.

These are life changing moments.

Let a girl cry!

nah. not the whole episode. not a week after the i have the fragile body of a woman, but the soul and heart of a king tantrum. idk how you can view all this as anything but pathetic.

and i mean, she didn't cry when the first kid got got. she got mad. then did nothing. ¯\_(ツ😉_/¯

if you enjoy it kool, but for me it's got s7 all over again

I think you have a narrow interpration of a medieval fantasy show's version of a woman born in a royal incest family in this time period.

First born/last of that line (unless there was a 3rd Lord strong) means more than a 2nd son.

ok

show is such ass

Thought it was fun.

A little too on the nose with the melodramatic music throughout the episode.

OK she's going a bit mad but we can see it rather than hear it.

Should have hired the Hannibal sound people. They would know how to make it awesome.

saw some ppl say that was the best ep of the season, and a few saying of the series. saw others saying it was terrible. i oddly just didn't really feel much about it. it was whatever, the episode that ever was. nice to see her finally going full dumbass, but i know it shant be long until they explicitly blame it all on her dad again, and MEN generally.

still a lot of stuff that doesn't really make sense, most notably was not legitimizing the velaryon bastards. thought her reasoning was weird and flimsy, later to learn that this is a show-only point of contention. in the book she just does it, but here they needed to contrive a conflict between her and corlys, and couldn't think of anything better i guess. part of the problem is the short episode order from hbo, so they're just speed-running all this stuff that should probably build gradually, so we get instant downfall. ok

the fake dauron stuff was handled pretty dumb too, also some of the characterization (notably alicent), don't get why they're separating heleana from her daughter, probably some other stuff too. who cares anymore, enjoy arbys.

the dinging or whatever every time she ****ed up was cringe and kind of insulting

Definitely lacks the spark that KOTSK showed each episode.

Gonna repeat what I said last season and say it feels like GOT S5.

Though I do like how the overall story progresses. In 3 episodes we've had more plot and events than s2.

Hope that Northern dude aka the one decent character in Fantastic Beasts makes an impact. He was so Northern! The speaking openly and having respect for an action that goes against you. Fun guy I'm sure.
