Music: What are you listening to today?
In the spirit of the books and movies threads, here's one to talk about what you're listening to lately and what you hav
I find Pink Floyd very boring now not a criticism, i listened to a ton of Floyd back in the day but nothing new is revealed by listening to it nowI still actively learn stuff off From a Buick 6 tho
I get that. Dylan is a genius and Highway 61 Revisited is clearly his masterpeice despite one of the most prolific careers in the history of history.

I find Pink Floyd, even Dark Side, depressing and, except for the instrumentals, without merit.
As for Dylan, my favorite, although depressing, too, is Time Out of Mind. When I was younger, I might have said Blonde on Blonde or Highway 61, but now I identify with Dylan's world weariness and heartbreak. It's a tough album to listen to, but for me it reflects who you are the older you become and who you were once upon a time.

Time Out of Mind might sound better than any other Bob Dylan album.
Daniel Lanois has a genius all his own and the album is very much a Lanois/Dylan collaboration.

Broken YouTube LinkFat - Fat
Fat was a 1970/80's western Massachusetts institution. I can't begin to count the number of times I caught them at the Rusty Nail - a roadhouse up in Sunderland, about 15 minutes north of UMass-Amherst. Heinekin on tap.

Artists I saw at the Nail included NRBQ, Eight to the Bar, Rick Derringer, Johnny Winter, Bonnie Raitt, Andy Pratt, Max Creek, Pousette-Dart, Warren Zevon, King Sunny, Bruce Cockburn, Loose Caboose and others.
The Nail burnt to the ground in '85 - suspicious circumstances, as I recall.
