Upon entering BC, I (briefly) considered driving up the Hyder, AK (at the bottom of the panhandle) just so I could PM you and tell you "I'm here, where are you?"
Thanks! Funny you should mention Hyder. My brother bought a Transit that's been tricked out into a camper van while we were there so he's driving it home now. Hyder was one of the places Uncle Mike suggested as "must see" for his trip home, but I think he decided to pass based on the multiple border crossings involved and him having to dump and rebuy his weed stuff every time, haha.
Well, if I'd known it was "must see", I would've went. Ofc, I have no weed to stash.
So I see we're trying to attract the younger crowd.

I wake up in the morning and I piss McExcellence.
I swear >50% of people use chatgpt/ai for every single post they make on LinkedIn.
Some people are dumb enough even to keep the -- in the post, so that it telegraphs to everyone else what they're doing.
I've always hated that song. And not just because it's weenie Chicago at their weeniest, but also because of the lyrics. You think it was the 4th of July? Like that wouldn't be obvious?
Watched Role Models this weekend and McLovin was awesome in that.
Back in late May, I got a notice from the state that I owed a penalty on last year's taxes. Not a huge amount, but they appeared to be saying I should've made quarterly payments, so paying in April was "late".
The problem was, the amount of tax shown on the notice was not the amount I owed and paid. This made me believe that they'd gotten records crossed up or something. Filled out an online protest.
Haven't heard a thing. Following up on that finally bubbled to the top of the stack. After a couple 10-minute holds, got to an agent. I explained my concern that they were not using y return for the basis of the penalty. He put me back on hold while he looked at things.
Maybe three minutes later, he came back with the nice news that he was giving me a waiver. I'd never had a penalty, and he saw that this year I am making quarterly payments (not sure why TurboTax didn't have me do that last year). The notice of waiver should be generated tomorrow, so I should get the official notice toward end of week.
It's too hot to do much else. Rare for me not to want to be outside.
In one of these threads (may have been June's), there were some ideas for changing soccer's rules. Maybe on of these:
(from hockey) create a blue line. Once the ball's inside that, attacking team must clear the zone if it goes back out.
OR
(from basketball) backcourt violation. Once your team is on the attack, they have to keep the ball in that half of the field or it's a turnover.

I think the old NASL tried some non-standard offside rules something like those. Soccer nerds rebelled.
