I like the storyline of kawhi going back to toronto but '31 and '33 unprotected is definitely a haul given his injury history and age

those picks seem so much more valuable with the new lottery rules

Debatable... less valuable if TO is a lottery team, more if a middling team, but also depends in the next CBA negotiations...

Kawhi Leonard signing will destroy what is left of the Toronto Raptors.

The guy won't play 50 games a year, nevermind that Kawhi is also washed.

2nd team all nba is washed? That's some high standards.

maybe he meant Kawhi took a bath. Rub a dub dub, he ain't no scrub.

Robinson to the Celtics was a predictable move.

Just seen the draft equity price for Walker-Kessler and I'm shocked - not only the lakers pick have more value with the new rules but those are bargaining chips you need to trade for a big name which is always going to be your MO when you're the lakers. now they have no picks to trade when a star becomes inevitably unhappy during the season

Come on over to the NHL thread tomorrow for more Toronto signings of old people! Lebron is old so maybe Raps on him as well.:p

Are teams not realizing picks have more value with the new lotto rules? What a terrible deal.

So Lakers are just a 7 seed with no flexibility moving forward now? Wtf? They got Luka for free like yesterday. Life comes at ya fast

Greatest moment in Raptors until.

...

Until they won the title weeks later.

That's right, cry Emiibd. Cry like the big baby you are. Wipe your bum.

My post on Giannis trade isn't here anymore but him not knowing how to request a trade and put his thumb on the scale ended up costing Norm Powell and Miami could use his offense.

Give kawhi credit, he knows how to get traded atleast

re Mitch Robinson - that seems like an overpay given his durability and the issue that he can't play when his team is in the penalty. He didn't really have a great playoffs or anything, just very good clinching game and some key stops on Wemby.

I really don't know what Lebron is going to do. In terms of style of play, GS is a much better fit than Cleveland. There really isn't much to figure out when you pair Lebron's all time great court awareness with Steph's all time great off ball movement. And I truly can't imagine Lebron playing alongside Harden. On the other hand, Lebron may need to be worshiped and revered at this point in his career. And if that's the goal, he really should finish out his career in CLE. He would never be worshipped by fans, teammates, or coaches in GS in the way that he would be in CLE.

Gun to the head, I guess that I think he ends up in CLE.

It didn't really matter. The Celtics had to add a physical big man, and Robinson was probably the best option. They simply couldn't go another full season relying that heavily on Queta.

Re: LeBron as far as what I think would be best, Mia > GS > Clev.

Celtics fans, enjoy your very injury prone center who can't shoot free throws. Guy just got a bag, don't think he'll be as motivated as he was last year too.

meh easier ways to get another serviceable big than spend 17m on mitchell robinson, I like him overall but that is just an overpay with this new CBA

look how they found queta

note on CBA/salary cap...the cap increases are going to be much more modest the next 2-3 years because of local TV revenue drying up at a rapid rate so many of these 6-8% increase extensions are really going to start cramping teams cap situations

There goes Jaylen.

Wowww that Boston/Philly rivalry is gonna get SPICY.

lol Celtics.

Uh that's the best deal the Celtics got?

Would rather keep Brown than taking on George.

I dunno seems like a current step down for Boston.

I like this for Philly too. Feels like they're a step up now as Brown will probably work well with Embiid/Maxey.

The new owner must really not want to extend JB

This has been gross mismanagement by Brad Stevens.

I doubt we have the full story about why all this Jaylen Brown drama has gone down. But, Stevens has completely screwed up either with this trade or the prior circumstances which "forced" the trade.

Celtics fans are going to be furious. It's a major step back for the franchise.

This is ****ing hilarious

Yeah, this trade is a big win for Philly.
