Plastic to the atmosphere, soil and waterways
Ocean acidification via CO2 absorption
It also allows unlimited drainage of fresh water supplies
This is a system which is essentially devoid of environmental regulation despite the many performative regulations on the books.

The system I am proposing appears to be the only path that will allow human civilization to endure.
But it entails a complete change to the status quo power structure.
The status quo is programmed to maintain itself against revolutionary forces. So, it has purchased nearly all of the mass media which conceals the threat from the public, leading to their ignorance. An ignorant public is disabling in a democratic system.
So, the people are not being offered the essential democratic option which is ......
a) Extinction via the status quo or
b) Survival via revolution
What instead we are getting is
c) Extinction via acceleration (Trumpism)
d) Extinction via superficially benign neglect (establishment Democrats)
