cmparing daryl mitchell's second innings to our entire top order makes me boil with rage. how lazy and pathetic go out and swing at everything when the draw is in play
for anyone not watching, mitchell scored 100* from 240 balls and got hit on the head/forearm/finger at least three times that i can specifically recall and probably a handful more that i have forgotten about
our top six faced 114 balls in a drawable situation. none of them got hit because they weren't there long enough to get hit. contemptible
oh and half the NZ bowling attack has fingers and hamstrings and other bits hanging off them.
make it a gruelling final day and grind their walking wounded into the ground? nahhh, reverse ramp into the hands of third man please!
Sick of seeing the long drama of Tests being reduced to egoistic fairy shots. ODIs and T20s exist if that's your bag.
the annoying thing is that having the bazball stuff in the locker could be such a great asset to the test side. it has the potential to really disrupt the opposition by make them over-cautious with declarations and field settings, overadjusting to the occasional ramp shot etc, generally just shitting them up and putting them in uncomfortable spots
the entire field being back on the boundary last night with stokes batting was a great example, he had risk-free singles all over the place chasing 370 odd with a whole day+ to go. just take the run!!!
