I think the primary question is whether they have just "transitioned" and "identify as a female or if they have taken the necessary legal steps to formally officially legally changed their gender. If so since physical abilities are not a true factor I believe it should be a non issue.

Occams razor stipulates the simplest explanation is usually correct. Men have larger brains, this is a fact. It's also a fact that larger brain size correlates to higher intelligence. Both of these are facts and you'd be unscientifically stupid to argue against either of those points. When we put those two facts together we get men are on average more intelligent than women. No study can disprove the truth, it can only manipulate the truth to show a desired answer.
So all the great chess pros are autists? All the greatest scientists and thinkers throughout human history being men is coincidental? It's all just a big coincidence men have bigger brains and men have been at the forefront of everything intellectual since the beginning of time.
What you should claim (which I also just think is cope) is that men are more diverse than women. Men's size and shape is more diverse than women. And therefore their intelligence is also more diversely distributed. The bell curve for women's intelligence is tighter and men's is flatter. Meaning there are more outliers among men, very dumb and very smart but the average intelligence is the same as women. This would explain men being in the top of most intelligence requiring fields. It's still wrong imo, men are just smarter on average, but that's an explanation that actually explains what we see in chess, science, math, etc.

But, you are just an autistic asshole, probably not much different than somebody like Kabrhel. Please show us one valid scientific study that proves men are smarter, on average, than women. NOT a study that shows they have physically larger brains. A study that shows they have higher IQs. And if you would, prove to us you're not just another douchebag with stupid bigoted takes on everything.
Serious question, I understand why women and men don't compete in sports due to physiological differences, but why do they need a separate event in poker? Same with seniors, can't everyone just get along or is there a reason to generate controversy?
The reasoning behind it that I see:
1. HARRASSMENT
Since women in poker represent under 10% of the playing field, they can tend to be victims of harassment in open events. I'm gonna dip into some misogyny here, but a lot of guys take a chick that's a 6 and now she's a "Poker 9". Guys will make advances towards these ladies that aren't wanted, or some guys will act aggressive and try to bully women, because their ego won't permit them to "lose to a woman" or "be bluffed by a woman"
Having an event for the ladies to play with other ladies helps to remove that tension for them and give them an event that tends to be more casual, and social, rather than overly serious and ultra-competitive.
2. THE FEMALE CRUSHERS WANT IT
The skilled female players know that the majority of the field will be weaker and more passive and less skilled. I'm not saying there aren't female players that are absolute beasts on the felt because there are. But overall, a ladies event will have a lot more passive/weak play.
The female pros want to have a juicy lineup like this because it gives them the best shot at winning money and bracelets against a smaller and softer field overall. They'll sell you on the "gUrl p0w3r" stuff, but they see an advantage and want to keep it that way. And they're probably tired of dealing with smelly and obnoxious guys as well.
Personally I'm waiting for an event for people 5'4" and below where none of us can reach our cards and our feet can't touch the floor.
