At this point we may as well route for this person to win as it will be a great deep voice post win interview and maximum embarrassment for WSOP for allowing this.

I highly doubt, if this person is at final table with chip lead they will let them win…..they have the shufflers on those final tables to take care of that. Iykyk.

Mark my words, some sick weird cooler hands will happen.

Ok I'm caught up now. Was this person a crusher when they only identified as their birth gender, i.e. male?No I don't think men are inherently better at poker like they are at say basketball, due to physical advantages, but there are broad general differences and potential advantages as well. I've played with many aggressive female players but it's also true that men are more a

They’re better at chess for some reason, so generalizing it to poker isn’t a huge stretch. I’m sure no university would ever fund a study, but I would love to know why the highest women’s chess rating is nowhere near the highest men’s chess rating(s).

I'm rather certain I'm seeing some transwomen/men in wigs/whatever playing in the ladies event. I admit I don't know the rules - I guess men aren't officially prohibited from entering right? But that's not the question, my actual question is what do we know about these player's results when they played as the male they were born as. This will probably go really well with some o

The person in question is Aubrey Williams, who (according to my records), has 19 cashes, including 2 final tables, in WSOP bracelet events for $58,973, all since 2021. I do not know what name she played under before then.

You can read her story here.

Women are less risk averse, but value security more than men. Even though this forum, i dont want to give examples.

These things (having less value for money) are crucial to making good decisions in poker, and specifically no limit holdem. Talk to women about the game, and generally one of the things that will come up is "but I couldn't not look at it as money im losing ".

Some studies also show that men are better liars, and this is especially true for competitive purposes.

Just my personal thoughts with some formal education in psychology. Obviously there are outliers.

That article reads as if she/he has a massive chip on her/his shoulder

The chip is big enough to belong on Mt Rushmore .

Yeah the old men who would vote to kill me thing isn't dramatic or unstable.

I’m pretty conservative on trans issues but see no problem with Aubrey, unlike say Lia Thomas. She’s definitely right about one thingβ€”rich old white people hate and fear poor & middle class white people a lot more than they do rich black people like Snoop & Flav.

People itt getting oogy over a poker player with a chip on their shoulder in light of Stuey Hellmuth Kousoff etc lmao.

“A lot of these old guys respect me, but they’re still going to vote against me being alive.”

Why do so many of these trans loons think everyone is trying to kill them?

Why does anyone care that one of the players is trans? What the **** does it matter?

by ScotchOnDaRocks m

It (the WSOP YouTube coverage) on a 2.5 hour delay but they still take a one hour dinner break when players do.

Yup the WSOP 2.5 delay on YouTube is ridiculous.

What was the purpose of starting this event years ago?

Some people think human beings can't change genders therefore they see a transwoman as being a man. And they don't want men to compete or be in spaces that are women/female only.

To get more women to play poker, and that seems to be what's happening.

If she were a man I could see the problem but she isn't.

From WSOP:

The WSOP Ladies Event is a specialized tournament designed to encourage female participation in a male-dominated hobby

That's what is happening.

So someone who was a man and apparently a successful player is "encouraging female participation in a male-dominated hobby"?

I notice you said someone who "was" a man. That would imply they are no longer a man. Glad we cleared that up.

This conversation is the nut low. Despite certain posters purporting to not be trying to delve into gender politics, that’s precisely what is being invited. Nobody cares about your tired takes on these issues. As far as I can tell not a single person in this thread has any standing to complain about a trans woman playing in the ladies event. And unless and until an actual entrant in the tournament expresses some concern about it, let’s take the pearl clutching (somewhat ironic because I’m sure it’s all men clutching their pearls here) somewhere else.
