The "LOLCANADA" thread...again

So what's new?

I've noticed the Liberals are now ahead in all major polls and Trudeau hasn't even started to campaign yet

Here is my other common sense approach to health care . No option for organ donation you must opt out. If you decide to opt out you can not receive an organ as well.

its to evade a ban obviously .... heck the word wont even let me type it

Have you considered bravely taking a stand, drawing a line, and refusing to use the r word? You could use ai to do some research on this and type a whole bunch of paragraphs out about how silly it is to be deliberately editing your words to avoid a ban. As someone who loves language policing, I totally think you should take yourself right to jail.

No one chooses cancer yet every person with an addiction chooses that lifestyle

My father in law is an alcoholic. My sister in law has been in rehab. They both struggle every, single, day. Saying their addiction is a "choice" is just a really narrow way to try to talk about it. In both my personal situations, it's a lot more complicated than that. I think it's very easy for someone who isn't an addict to sit back and just blame the "garbage" humans who deserve to die of overdose because it is, supposedly, a choice. But I don't think most addicts chose to be addicts. This isn't to take away personal responsibility for their actions, often actions decades ago, but it is to say that the slope addiction is so steep and slippery and challenging to deal with, that a lot of people find themselves in situations they didn't want to be in, but nevertheless are.

So just like your previous point about "burdens" that you seem to have abandoned in favour of this "choice" argument, I don't think it holds a lot of water.

I have definitely not considered that regarded "stand" see this is what happens when I type it. ****** ****** ******

Once again I have never "language policed" I said I think its cringe and not even mainsteam. I believe I called it something only a silly far leftist would say. but at no point did I try to get you to stop using your silly word of houseless or w/e actually forgot what the word is. Because its just not even a word anyone uses and it would be a silly stand to take. but it sure is fun to laugh at. laughing at something is not policing

lmao at my buddy trying act like he wasn't language policing when he drew a line in the sand and then went on paragraph after paragraph of ai citing rant over a random word choice with zero pressure or suggestion or hint that anyone say it.

Of course you could have drawn your line over lozen's "garbage" people or your own "regarded" people but no no you went for the all important word policing.

it was a single copy paste lol was it more then one paragraph? was it more then one line?

Ya it was a single line it was about 16 words LMAO. Then you went on rants about paragraphs for like two days

lmao buddy in your multi paragraph rant the ai quoting part was only one line sandwiched by more and more paragraphs of your continued word policing. Lol these snowflakes obsessed with other peoples word choices are sure hilarious.

But ya know what? Your word policing has tired even me out. I know, I know, shocked. So enjoy whatever new sniveling way you find to try and paint your word policing as a win for you.

Best, uh, regards!

Lifestyle choices can significantly increase one's chance of getting some types of cancer. Should we just let those folks die? Is that the kind of society you want to live in? I sure don't, but to each their own.

And once someone is addicted to drugs it is unclear to what extent they are 'choosing' their lifestyle.

As I posted earlier, 'homeless' and 'houseless' (or 'unhoused') do NOT mean the same thing. They are each distinct categories of folks who do not have a permanent home.

I mean from my limited research thats not completely true it was definately a leftist pc attempt a couple years back to change the word. I imagine its being used as both. but yours is probably the more popular way. but its a good point about how silly it is to try to replace a word that has a completely different meaning. Thats poor use of the euphemism treadmill

ai says homeless and houseless are different things but unhoused is the pc word they tried to push

involuntarily unaboded or dedomiciled

I still like P. J. O'Rourke's "outdoorsmen." Makes it sound like an exciting adventure.

For a while 'womyn' was a thing. That was probably too dumb even for the Woke Mob of Pea Brains (TM Pending).*

I don't think anyone is suggesting just letting them die. But letting them openly do drugs, leave paraphernalia everywhere, sleep on side walks, deficate on the streets, destroy neighborhoods, rob, steal and make it unsafe for kids shouldn't be an option either. That's not the kind of society most people want to live in.

Conservatives always talk a great law and order game until push comes to shove and then they vote against spending a single dollar to actually help these people.

Is that what it is? We just aren't spending enough money to help these people.

They are living a better life then what I would have them do if I was in charge and had to spend money on them. (forced labor) simply paying for their treatment without expecting anything from them is not something many people want to do. Im fine with money for the mental health side of it not the drug addiction part. I didn't particularly like the garbage people term but any sane society would kick them out of the city walls to let them starve to death. Throughout history beggars were only people with deformity's because it was not a desirable vocation. It was illegal to be a healthy beggar and they were often "enticed" to not be healthy beggars. We made it a little too enjoyable.

Its not about money its about making it acceptable. lock em up to make big rocks into little rocks

I didn't suggest anything of the sort. Anyone suggesting one easy fix is to "just" do a single thing is naive. Like the folks who go on these lazy law and order speeches droning on about robbery being bad as if a single person is confused by this. This is a very hard problem without any easy solutions.

let them starve to death.

We know.

and its ok

Have you tried reading a book?

I read a book called From the Ashes a few years back. It was extremely impactful. It tells the story of an Métis man who experienced decades of addiction, homelessness, crime, the works. After something like the 7th time through rehab he managed to become clean, go to university, and become top selling author and a professor. It is beautiful, compelling, hard to describe. I honestly can’t think of a way to argue with someone who thinks it’s ok to let such people starve to death. I don’t think there is anything I could say. But maybe a book like this would help broaden your horizons like it did mine.

I didn't even say we should let them starve to death I did say some blunt stuff but I didn't say that. I said that's historically what happened. your book is about a 95% white guy pretending to be a native american who was a drug addict in the 2000's. I love how this guys like 1/10th native at most and its the first thing that pops up on his wikipedia page. It also appears like you probably work with him since hes a Toronto professor.

I do believe in rehabilitation. I just don't believe in repeat rehabilitation. I just love this guys Wikipedia page man of course this is the kind of guy you idolize

Thistle's use of academic research as a means of healing and understanding of his personal story as an Indigenous person growing up disconnected from his community and its history and his past experiences with homelessness, addiction and incarceration has formed the basis for his original and innovative research contributions.[5][15][12][16] Thistle's historical research has used his own past and identity as a way to examine the position of Metispeople and culture within Canadian society, particularly around the idea of inter-generational trauma.[citation needed]

oh my god do you know what a metis is? my father is a status Indian. Its just some french guy who ****ed a native 8 generations ago. This guy is like 95% European LMAO. You can get metis status with a very small percentage. This guy is larping as a native to sell books to pc pricks. Hes never lived with indigenous hes 95% European and he uses his 5% indigenous status to sell books. in most circles this guy would be a white guy. As a nippising band member this guy makes me throw up in mouth.

Sorry for this rant I just find this guys Wikipedia page hilarious. Man I hate liberal white people from toronto pretending to be indigenous. claiming metis is like the American version of claiming your Cherokee Indian. Then they all do dna tests and find out they have 98% European ancestry

Funny enough My actual native ancestors fought against the metis in the riel rebellion and for the british in general. They took the name of commanda because they liked the word commander the British used. Don't get me wrong metis are their own thing with indigenous influence. They are a culture not an ethnicity. its very easy for a white guy raised in Toronto to feel special and want to cling to it. It seems this guy was adopted and was never even a part of that culture.

So really hes just an adopted white guy who's parents happened to be metis and was raised in the big city by his non metis relative so definitely not Metis since its a culture not an ethnicity
