I 3 bet QQ to 5500 from +1.
Gets back to him he sighs and shoves with trembling hands.

Wwyd? I folded

I offered him $20 to show me a hand worse than Kings but he didn’t show

A little while later….

Big stack opens 2300 and nit calls. I go 8400 with AKcc from the button they both call.

Flop is Qc Jc 6. Big stack checks and nit from the QQ shoves 23k I snap. He has AQ, I hit both turn and river.

Have lost a bit since but 40bb is fine

Not sure I could fold QQ but understand especially if you read those tremblling hands as AA or KK. Otherwise GET A FRIKKEN BAG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I might have folded Kings to him tbh. Positions play a part obviously & I had been sitting with him for 2+ hours by then.

I would much rather make a folding mistake than a calling mistake in a tourney like this. Maybe I'm wrong...but he is certainly never doing it with JJ & I'd guess he'd flat my 3 with AK.

but again idk

Reads are important. A bad fold is better than a bad call. Survive and thrive!

Chopped up steadily but uneventfully after dinner break and was at 75k ish by the last hand of that level. They announced a 15 min break so they could chip up and race the 100s. I was doing it for our table and I had guys all around me

Was in the bb with 76cc. Big stack UTG opened to 3.5x (huge), button called and I can actually fold here for that sizing but meh…I called.

Flop (12500) was 248 with one club. UTG really shouldn’t c bet here but he did to 6k. This is an awesome check raise spot with an up and down on a board favouring my range but the chaos around me and his sizing turned me chicken. I flatted

Turn (24500) was another 5 and went check check.

River was another 5 and I bet 9k trying to get him off AK but he raised to 25 and I had to fold.

Annoying hand. Not sure I played it too badly but meh - was down to 52 ish before the last level and was a little tilted. The break came at a good time

Last level I raise/folded KJdd to the big stack to my left - he made it easier by betting so big - like 4x which…with 35bb becomes committing very quickly

I was down to 30 bb when was an early position raise to 3000. I went to 8500 with Ackh and he called. The flop was 732cc, I c bet 5500 and he called. The turn was the Kc I bet 12000 and he folded.

Later in the level I was at exactly 38 bb when this hand happened.

I open AJcc from early position to 3k. Button (the guy from the previous hand) has been a little bluffy and seeing a lot of flops but is super tired calls and so does bb.

The flop (9500) is 10 7 10 cc. I bet 4500 and button raises to 11. He’s been doing some ‘see where he’s at’ type raises so he has pocket pairs a 7 and inferior flush draws as well as 10s here. Either way, I can cram and maybe I ‘should’ but I call. The turn is the very pretty 8c, I check he bets 12 and I shove. He calls and has K10dd.

Fortunately the river is a blank and we double.

I had to raise/fold a few times in the final 30 mins but we found a decent bag. I have 110,000 going back to 1000/2000/2000 tomorrow. Average is 90k

A great spot. It’s cost me 3 buy ins to get here but I have a nice opportunity if I can play well and run good

as i read that was wondering if it were a typo, or you were a very adventurous player, or the meta has changed so much since i last paid real attention that i can't even recognize standard plays

Not sure if/how I’ll update today. I’ll see how it feels in the moment.

11am restart is a Godsend. I didn’t have an awesome sleep tbh but just filling up on food and coffee at Cafe Americano.

I reckon I’ve lost 5lbs since I came out here. I don’t like eating a lot while I’m playing - I feel like my brain gets slowed down by carbs and it’s tough to find even semi decent protein sources here so I’ve been basically having one meal a day and then topping up on protein bars and nuts and yoghurt. It definitely makes a difference to mental clarity for me at least.

Went with the very standard American breakfast. With coffee it’s $36 plus tip.
