I’ll start this thread by channeling my inner karaoke DJ, and invoking the timeless lyrics from the
First break, on about 25k from the 30k starting stack. Haven’t gotten very involved on my new table yet.
Feeling good, paying attention. Let’s see if we can turn this into something!
Second break, on about 88k.
I got my first double with AQ vs KQ on a Q-high flop, all in on a safe turn.
Picked up KK a couple times, won without showdown.
The chip leaders at this table haven’t impressed me. One just LOVES to limp suited low cards, and never fold any piece.

Yeah it’s a nice enough place. Reminds me of Red Rock.
Just so far from everything, you have to be going there on purpose to get there.
They get a pretty good turnout for these low buyin fields.
Spotted in the wild: The Hot Flashes slot machine.
The micro-targeting of hyper-specialization knows no bounds.
I can only assume this is being marketed towards perimenopausal slot degens.
…Of which there are apparently many.
If I go there in December, I'll play this until the bonus hits. I will *NOT* be sending pics of it to Mrs. Breeze however. I'm not suicidal.
Third, and presumably final, break of the day.
There are 48 players left, 33 will bag into the money for Day 2. I have 204k, average is 160k.
Defended my BB with K7s vs a late position opener. It came T-8-2 two spades, I check/shoved over the cbet, he calls fairly quickly with JJ. 9s right on the turn.
The other big hand was making a set of 8’s on the button in a 5-way flop. The UTG raiser had KK, and couldn’t get away from it.

Puuuuuuuke busted 3 players away from bagging :(
One key hand got me short. I’m in the BB with K2s. The button, who was loose, limps for 8k, SB calls, I check.
Flop K-9-5 two hearts, I lead out 12k, button calls, SB folds.
The turn is another 9, putting two diamonds out. I check, and he immediately and confidently bets 40k.
I think this is polarized, to nuts, or air. I call.
River is a black jack, I check again, he bets 50k.
I called, but I guess I should have folded, as he had Q9o.
Then of course he gives me a speech…. Which I could have done without.
I got my last 28k in preflop calling another shortstack’s shove. I had AK, she had A7, 7 on the turn, and that’s just how these things go.
Sooooo deflated. I would have felt so much better about my day if I had bagged! I needed a good day, where I felt like I made good decisions, from start to end.
And I did, for the most part.
No more poker for me today. We’ll evaluate tomorrow.
Getting so close and missing sucks. I think I am gonna play in that thing tomorrow. It's either that of the Rookies and Recs at Golden Nugget but to be honest I don't wanna go downtown and I have never been to SP and want to check it out.

Thought of your game Hat or No Hat at my tables yesterday. I’m not a hat wearer but Hat was a clear majority in my area.
Made my way back to South Point to fire the $300 multi flight again.
It’s a good structure, and good turnout, so I’m gonna try again.
Already more entries today than yesterday, with 6 more levels of late reg.

First break, on about 23k from the 30k starting stack.
I missed an open ended draw with position in a multiway pot… would have scored a nice one if it had hit. Other than that, I’ve barreled in spots where I had initiative, but not really connecting with flops.
More importantly, I’ve gotten the table hooked on hat/no hat, and I’m 1 and 1 so far.
Grabbing a bite at Steak n Shake, because I didn’t eat breakfast.
Second break, but we’re close to push-botting territory, with 19k.
I got a double opening AQs from HJ, only the cutoff called. Flop T-8-2 checked through, I led on the 6 turn, he called. River Q, and I shoved… he called with T9o.
Then about half an hour later, I lost a flip 99 < AQo to get back below a starting stack.
I tried shoving 22 over a raise on the last hand of the level, thinking I could either double up, or max late reg, but they all folded.
I’ll be pretty annoyed if I lose my next all in early in the next level, and can’t rebuy.
But we’ve got chips, and reads, so we’ll play them the only way we know how!
And sadly, my hat/no hat action dried up, so we’ll finish even on the day for that.
Just busted, in the first orbit back. KK < AA … I guess I can be thankful that happened when I was short, and not in a higher leverage moment in a tournament.
And now late reg is closed.
I think I’ll hang around here and play cash, until the 6 pm flight starts.
